Selected

I am in the high school gym along with the rest of the school. We are ordered by these evil people to line up single file, wall to wall, for selection. We do as we are told. I stand next to Kai. I am nervous that I am going to be picked, but I’m not actually scared, per say. The choosers walk behind us, down the line. I get a sickly feeling in the pit of my stomach. I am third into the my line, and first picked. They continue down the line as I am escorted to a room, where I find Samantha, Mary, Cory, and a few other people.
So many people were left in the gym… They are the ones left behind. I get the sense that they are going to die.
We, the chosen, come together and meet one another. Mary still hates me, and avoids me. She partners up with Cory, and I partner up with Sam.
Our task is to solve some sort of problem, as presented by papers on multiple tables in a white, sterile, library-like room. We engross ourselves into the papers, not noticing as everyone else around us disappears one by one. By the time we notice, it’s just us four left.
Me and Sam throw our efforts into over-drive, trying to decipher the maps and figure out what the red dots on them mean. The place on the map was a real country, but the paper calls it a name we don’t recognize. I google it on my phone, and manage to find the real country.
Mary and Cory are gone. Now it’s just me and Sam. I tell her what it means, and when the army guy comes into the room, I tell Sam to figure it out so she wins. She has to win. If she wins, she’ll live. The guard comes after me, and I run into the bathroom. I get into a bathtub and quickly decide to play dead. He comes into the room, sees me perfectly still, and feels disappointed that he didn’t get to finish me off himself. He picks me up and I do my best to stay limp.
He takes me into the library room, and orders Sam to carry me. The order is cruel, making her carry her dead best friend. The way she carries me makes it hard to fake being dead. Luckily he doesn’t notice.
We reach a concrete room, and he tells Sam to throw me into the garbage disposal truck with the cyan, limegreen, and hot pink paint. Before she has to, however, the head honcho called them inside. Sam drops me on the floor and follows back into the building. A little boy comes over and starts poking me, thinking I am dead. I hiss at him, scaring him to death. He comes back after running away, and keeps saying over and over, “I know you’re not really dead.” I finally admit it so he will leave me alone and no one will over-hear him. I could also use his help, if he’s willing to help me.
I tell him to go inside and look for my red-headed friend in the back room. The boy turns into a cat and leaves to find Sam. I follow him, and find that Sam is being forced to play a weird game with a light up floor that is like a colorful chessboard. The army man and the main man in charge are cheating. She isn’t allowed to use anything but herself, while they get to use talismans and other players.
Sam nods over to “my” skull on a shelf and says they should at least let her use that it as a game piece. Voldemort, who is the main person in charge, comes over to “my” skull and starts making fun of it. He says my hears would attach weird since it is just a skull.
I come into the room, and surprise everyone. I snap my own neck, turn into cat boy. Only instead of being an actual cat I’m only a weird toy version that can’t sit up on my own so I use a wired armature to sit straight. The army guy tried to sneak attack me with his pewter sword, but I was faster thanks to Sam’s warning. I cut through his sword with my own. My sword looks like my sword pendant. By cutting his sword, I win the game that Sam was forced to play.
I am given a big white envelope with a bunch of smaller envelopes inside. Each one is addressed with the people that helped me and Sam along the way so we can write them and tell them how it all turned out. There is no way for me to remember who went with what address for me to be able to address the letters, so I basically just blow it off. But the important thing is that me and Sam lived, surviving the biggest massacring challenge. [End]
