I’m in my room at my Dad’s house. The windows in the corner face the front yard as though my room were located where my Dad’s room actually is, and their much wider than normal. They span half the wall at least. Under the windows are padded benches great for sitting and reading in the sunlight that pours in. My bed in the middle of the room is smothered in a immaculately fluffy, white bedspread. It looks like the softest bed I’ve ever laid eyes on.
I leave the light off as I pad over to the windows. I open the blinds to let the light in, and Dad from outside sees me do so. I don’t notice him until I turn away and head to make my bed. That’s when he screams my name.
I run to the window in a fright, his tone suggesting that he’s in dire trouble and needs my help. When I look out, however, I see that he just wanted my attention. He points out the horses that run by him down the road. He wanted me to see horses, figured I wouldn’t want to miss it. I sigh under my breath, act amused, then turn away to finish cleaning up my room. [End]
