I am a guy in prison. I’m escorted out of my cell one day out of the blue by Wanda Bell. She walks me to a parking garage type place, and removes my cuffs. I look at her questioningly, wondering what is happening. I start to wonder if I’m being released when she tells me that I’m being transferred. I glance toward the open garage door as another guard comes to re-cuff me and haul me to another facility. Transferring is bad news. It means a longer sentence. I consider running, which Wanda picks up on with my glance toward the outside. She warns me not to run. She says that I should know that they’ll catch me.
Now me (female) and Bell live in apartments across the hall from one another. This old woman, who lives across the alley from my apartment, is selling canned refried beans, canned tomatoes, and taco shells in a box. I buy a can and a pack of shells, even though they are stamped as expired way back in 1776 and 1976, respectively. I bought it more to be nice than to actually consider eating it.
Now I’m Clark, in school with Bellamy. We are being shot at by Joel Luschek, and are returning fire with our own guns. Joel almost hits me, but I barely duck under a table for cover in time. Joel comes around the corner, getting a good luck at my face for the first time. Some other student says that the gun I have is actually Joels, and effectively takes the blame off of me. Luschek doesn’t kill me. The person who helped me leaves. Instead of a table, I’m now under a car. The girl inside the car has been hit by one of the bullets that was aimed at me, and is bleeding out. [End]
