Car-Crash Motorhome Lake Apocalypse

It’s post an economic collapse or some other catastrophic event. I crash my car near the newspaper building, breaking the windshield and the back window. I call my lawyer, who shows up and is pissed that I broke the glass /again/. He calls someone to come and fix it.
These people show up in a motorhome. Papa, my aunt, and my mom are there. My aunt makes a call to Kacey, our broker, to ask him a question about the computer- which also failed like my car. After he answers and sounds sleepy, we realize that it’s three in the morning. He’s grumpy that she called so late, especially when she’s not supposed to call without an appointment anyway.
I walk toward the back of the motorhome as it starts moving. I find a wood-burned stick that I made, and a smaller bamboo-looking stick- both that I gave to Samantha. I’m a bit upset she didn’t keep them, so I claim them and take them back. I head back up to the driver seat, where there’s these sliding doors that separate the front seats from the rest of the motorhome. I comment that the doors don’t have a purpose, that they just get in the way. Papa jumps in and tells me that I’m wrong about the doors, that they do have a purpose, which is to hold items in their back pouches and give a place for people to lean on.
We pull over when Heather says she needs to pee. I look out the window and see we’re on a road near a lake. Heather gets out, and after a minute, Mom asks me what she’s doing. I look out the window again and see her piling up rocks like a well. I say she’s probably building herself a toilet. She starts something like a generator, puts it in the water, and sits upon it to use as a potty. I comment that that’s extremely dangerous and that we should stop her.
Me and Mom jump out to stop her, but by the time we reach where she was she’s done and heading back to the motorhome. We look at what the motor was, and find that it’s a boat propeller. I think, “At least it was something water proof.” Mom kicks it over and finds that it’s still attached to an entire still-inflated boat.
We climb into the raft and she drives out toward the open water of the lake. We put our arms out and let the window whip around us, through our hair, pulling at our clothes. It feels like flying. She guns it so hard that we are both kicked off and thrown into the water. We surface and laugh. I watched the boat race off without us as we float for a minute. I float face down, my ears out of the water. It’s so quiet, after the cataclysmic event. There’s no cars, boat engines, planes. Just the silence that nature provides.
We swim back to the beach, mom carrying me most of the way on her back. We reach the bank, which is like a half-submerged bookcase. I dive under and look at the shelves to see if there’s anything worth salvaging before I follow Mom out of the water. [End]
