I decide to go on a road trip to Vegas, alone. I jump in my car and hit the road- determined to go to a Supernatural Con. My window is rolled down, and the wind whips my hair around. It feels like freedom.
Then I have baby West Collins with me. My mission is to get him to his father at the Con. I pass West, in the passenger seat, my iPod which is playing a clip of his dad Misha. It makes West happy, which reaffirms that I’m doing the right thing for the little guy.
Sam ends up on this road trip with us too, and at some point we get in a car wreck caused by Reapers. My car is now a van, which is upside down. West is on top of the wreck, on the bottom of the van completely unharmed. Me and Sam climb out. I record West’s cooing on my iPod and leave it behind and playing on a loop, hoping it will fool the Reapers for a while so we can get a head start on running away. I find myself wishing I didn’t have to leave my iPod behind. [End]
