Government Puppy Snatchers

America's government has collapsed, and now everyone in my city is being moved into a concentration camp. Everyone is in a long line of vehicles on a street, slowly being ushered inside this huge warehouse-like building. Me and my family are in my grandparent's fifth-wheel, and we have all of our dogs out to go potty. Men behind us in line, civilians like us, take our two white labs and our two rottweilers and stack them on top of the mattresses and blanket pile on their trailer. I see this is also happening ahead of us, where my mom is arguing with a man trying to take my beagle Lily and my mini-Aussie Skye.
I start screaming at the men with the truck behind us for taking our dogs and pick up one of the labs with one hand and set her down slightly rough. I feel bad for being rough and apologize to the dog to let her know she's a good girl and not being punished. I watch her run to the door of the motor-home and get ushered in by my mom. When I turn back, the other dogs and men who took them are gone. I rush over to my mom and ask where Lily and Skye are. She, with tears, tells me they've been stolen.
I panic. The heavily armored guards tell us it's time to move forward in line, into the building. My mom tries to get me inside the motor home, but I will not have it. I am not leaving the area without my puppies. I tell my mom I will catch up to them later once I've found Lily and Skye.
They drive ahead, and I desperately search around the line of vehicles for Skye. I scream his name multiple times before I start to hear whining. I shout louder, over and over "Skye?! Skye?!" Finally the whining leads me to my poor beagle buried up to her neck in loose gravel. The line of cars moves forward and a large white trailer moves over her. I crawl underneath it, no fear of the guards or the vehicles, and dig her out of the gravel. I lift her out and walk her into the building, the guards watching me suspiciously.
I enter a room which is much line my high school gym, and pass by the men who tried to take her from us lined up along the wall with all of their stuff piled around them. I flip them off as I pass by them and glare at them viciously.
At the end of this line, I find my mom and granny at the animal lost and found center. I barely enter when my mom says, "We've got Lily." I give her and odd look as I set Lily into the pillow bed in a crate at table level. "No, I've got Lily," I correct her. We examine both beagles in side by side beds, both identical to my Lily, except for one feature. They both have knocked tails.
"Mom," I say with horror in my voice, "Why do they have knocked tails?" At this point, I realize neither dog is my dog. I look around the room at all the cats and dogs in the bedded crates, and find that Lily is not among them. I ask about Skye, and she confirms that the men never got him, that he is safe in the motor home, so I head back towards the entrance. My mom tries to stop me, but I will not give up on Lily! I am stopped by guards, telling me if I leave I will not be allowed back in. I do not care. I shove past them and storm out of the building.
It is now night time outside. I walk along the outside of the building, and see a man going into a door that leads to the pet lost and found. I run to him and try look over his shoulder as he steps inside. He says "I've got dog identification that needs to be claimed. I roughly grab his shoulder and look at his cupped hands, full of dog tags, collars, and a few toys. To my horror, I see Lily's tag and a black and white braided string I know was on her collar. "That's mine! That's Lily's! Where is she?" I ask, on the brink of tears, knowing what he's about to tell me.
"She is dead." My mom, who is standing in the crowd of people in front of the man trying to see if their dog's tags are among the one's in the mans hand, gasps. I feel my knees buckle and I begin to sob hysterically. I force myself to stop and I clench the man's shoulder painfully.
"You're telling me the truth? Tell me the truth! Is Lily dead?!" He pauses. Though he is a government employee, he does not morally condone their actions. "Yes, but not yet." He explains to me the government's plan, to take everyone's dogs so they will not be guarded or comforted by them as a way of controlling the people. He tells me they plan to take Lily and the other kidnapped dogs to a boiling volcano to kill and dispose of them. I release the man and start to storm off when my mom stops me and asks where I am going. I tell her, "I'm going to save my dog," all bad-ass-movie like.
I head for a nearby town, where a demon-girl owes me a favor and will help me get Lily back. She lives in a house near a small lake surrounded by palm trees. They are poor, and the walls are just boards and the beds are small and hard. Her aunt is sick in the living room sleeping, so I go into the girls room, where she sits on the bed with her keeper/mother. Despite being a twelve year old girl, I know she is deadly. I ask her for help, and she instructs me to go see a blue man a few blocks away. [End]
