One year ago yesterday, I had a fight and then I had a dream.
I woke up in my partner's apartment, on the very couch I had fallen asleep on.
I can only recall that they were being taken away by a group of people determined to harm them. Interestingly enough, the bedroom transformed into an open area, kind of a mix between a small boat and a patio. One of these people, grabbed my love, and clearly was hell bent on terribly hurting them.
I woke-up terrified, because the feeling was so real and so dark, despite being a little hurt, I told them everything. I said " this was too real, the feeling of it, I know that feeling, these people were fucked-up and they were taking you away somewhere, and I couldn't help you, I couldn't do anything but watch". They didn't know what to make of it, and they too were still quite upset about the fight, and couldn't deal.
The very next day, we went to the mall. My partner's sis was in town for Christmas, intent on shopping boxing day deals, so we entertained. We went into Club Monaco and it was crazy, a frenzy, you could see it all around you. I noticed that the alarm kept going off. It was so busy, with people everywhere, but I could still hear the alarm going off, every ten to fifteen minutes. All three of us split up, and somehow I find my self in line buying something. One person shy of the register, I happen to turn around and see my partner walking by, up the stairs somewhat following a stern lady. I yell their name, and they're at the top of the stairs, they turn around but say nothing. I could see in their eyes that something was wrong. I reach the register, the person behind it, ringing me up, is an old friend, I haven't seen this person in years. We chit chat for a bit, and I turn around and can spot my partner's sis. I tell her that they're up here somewhere, so we too, go up the stairs and search for them.
Long story short, they get arrested (accused, though never proven, of shoplifting, even with all their cameras, no evidence) held for three hours while I and Angela tried to talk to staff, managers, and eventually police officers who happily informed us that, they were called in because my partner hit someone, so now its assault too.
Thank good that all the falsified charges get dropped. Though, they aren't allowed to return to that mall for a year. We debated on suing, but they eventually decided that it was best to let it go, and move-on.
I've had these experiences before where I dream about things before they happen. And though the dreams aren't necessarily the same scenarios, the people I dream of and what I witness tends to serve more of a metaphor, but most times the dreams are accurate, down to the details.
