trying to find a place to live, bailey and i find an old warehouse in a city. we sneak up to it, him first. i signal to him that i've seen somebody, too late, but it turns out to be an old friend of his. i walk over to join them. the warehouse is already pretty full, but i'm so cute and bailey's so nice they let us join in. we take them all out for coffee (we may be homeless but we're not poor) and run into some other "friends" of our, wealthy sheep. they must think we're crazy. i try not to let on the full situation (we're running from the law?) but they see who we're with, hobos and bums. we pool our money, us and the warehouse dwellers, and it comes to $3000, tho two thirds of that came from bailey. i still have a plane ticket to india, a return flight for a few months from now. in the warehouse again, talking with an old schoolmate, a "popular girl" back in the day. she's not the happyest girl now, we share stories of failure. we can relate to each other, surprisingly. out in the hallway i sit near the bowl of free chocolates, dark toffiffee being my favorite. in the end, i lose bailey. i don't know how, but he's gone and it tears my world apart. i wrap my face in a red scarf, tight like a mask, in my dark room dank warehouse room, with my few possessions beside the cot, preparing to kill myself- yet i still get upset that somebody sneaks in during the dark of night and rummages thru my things, looking to steal whatever they can find. at least wait til i'm dead, scavenger!
after the cataclysm?
