Time to get serious. ;) (*laugh*)
'Cause time is such a joke in dreams. It plays tricks on me all the time. I recall dreams where I look at and am confused by the time noticing how it is moving erratically. Like moving backwards for instance.
And then I think about time during the waking hours, and how it plays tricks on me, travels relatively to what I am doing or thinking about, and always seems to be in sparse supply.
Even now I look back through my dream journal and try to assess how much time has seemingly passed since I began this journal. Not a year and a half I'll tell you that!
It has felt accelerating, as if getting shorter, faster and faster.
I even have a visual related to it, which I will attempt to describe with words now:
Imagine a piece of paper, on the left side is a giant lazer ray machine, looks rather like a large telescope, and it is shooting out a wavy, squiggly line. The line has form tho, similar to a sin wave. Up and down, up and down, like a boat on the ocean, rocking. Visualize now that you are riding this wavy line of time across the page. At the beginning (left side of the page), the source from which the lazer comes, it is moving so rapidly up and down, and in small frequency, that you detect no wave at all. Just a tiny singularity. As it progresses out the mouth of the nozzle, across the page from left to right, the waves become larger and larger until they become detectable. They keep growing and spreading out across the page, eventually filling up the whole thing and then expanding out forever. Perhaps they break apart into a million tiny waves. Each beginning as that original one, undetectable, yet full of infinite possibility. What path will it make on the page? [P@&3]

So time flows, like the pattern of the lazer light. It has an ebb and flow, it wafts and wanes. When you try to will it to speed up or slow down, it rarely changes it's course willingly. You have to just let yourself go, in the waves. If you fight it it's like if you were trying to go from right to left across the page, and pierce all the frequent waves. It would be like walking into a fire hose pointed directly at your face and splashing you to and fro.
Thus, time travel in the backwards direction has ne'er been accomplished. Forwards, obviously a different story. (but if you have NOT seen one of the newest Futurama episodes, you really should)
If time can only travel ... if time can only travel backwards in our dreams ... if time is only limited in the waking hours .... why not spend more time dreaming .. more TIME somewhere where there is no limitation of time... somewhere truly paradoxical - yet no less real than the time it took me to construct this twisted rhyme:
Til I'm a Monkey that Eats it
bananas, all over the walls
shall I clean it up?
Ne'er mind there are candidates awaiting awakening
