Bio-Rhythms

You know how they say that people that like each other and live closely together, they tend to feels things at the same time? Like, when one of you has had a bad day or a good day, so has the other? Or if one of you is trying to fall asleep and the other's hyped up on Monster, playing Call of Duty (without the noise), you can't fall asleep until they do, which could take hours? My Dad and I are like that. So, this is just to give you some background on why this dream may have happened.

So, this one night I couldn't sleep because an overwhelming sadness came over me and wouldn't let me clear my mind enough to rest. After an hour of fruitless tossing and turning, I retreated to our studio, where my Dad was still playing Battlefield (Come on, even big girls need their Daddy sometimes), and flopped onto the couch. With him in the room, I got calm enough to doze, and after another hour or so he headed off to bed and I managed to fall asleep.

I slept fairly well, which was surprising, given that amount of distress. What was more surprising, as Dad and I sat down for our cup of morning coffee, was when he mentioned the dream he had that night. He and I were going on vacation and we had rented a beach house in some tropical location. We got to the house and we went to claim our rooms. When he walked back into the living room, however, I was sitting on a chair with my feet up, hugging my knees and crying. Winding around and around the chair was this deathly pale humanoid... thing. The best way to describe it, he said, was like that person from The Grudge or The Ring, except with a round wormish mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth. The thing looked up at Dad, moaning something along the lines of, "This is my place. It's mine! You're not allowed to be here." Dad huffed at it, like, "All right," snatched me off of the chair, and hustled me out of the house to find someplace else to stay.

I knew immediately that the dream was important, and that Dad had subconsciously helped me out of that situation. What I don't know is how he did it and what that thing was or what it represented.
