We were moving my bed from upstairs, so that we could put it in the moving van. That's not surprising, since we're going to do that this summer (hopefully), but my older sister was helping us move it. She and my Dad don't really get along, and she's moved out recently, so I doubt that she would really help us, but there she was, helping to inch the mattress down the stairs.
I was helping out where I could, but what really caught my attention was the shadows. Golden light was filtering in from all of the windows, and on the walls beautiful shadows danced. It was a mix of numbers, letters, and symbols; hollow geometrical shapes, ornamental crosses, flowers, crescents, and stars; all of which was floating, fading, and reappearing along every wall in the house. Vaguely, I got the feeling that my friend Cat was unknowingly playing with something and creating these shadows.
I at some point drew my Dad's and sister's attention to the shadows, which they somehow hadn't noticed before, and they told me to "Quick! Get the camera!" However, as soon as I had gotten the camera, the shadows started to disappear altogether. My Dad and sister had tried to trace them on the walls in colored pencil to capture their image, but it was too late.
