Last night I visited the mansion of the catalpa house. As I walked through it I was so amazed to see the familiar and the extravagant somehow mixed together into a strange hybrid dreamscape. I could tell where walls had been knocked down to create new rooms and additions. Young children lived there together and their personal bedrooms rooms had impossibly high ceilings with a sort of jungle playhouse suspended, mesh and plastic tunnels rigged up so that one might climb up from the floor into the air. It was too dangerous for me to attempt crawling through. It never would have supported my weight. I recall bits and pieces of these tunnels seeming to be connected together only with a silver roll of duct tape.
In the basement I discovered another surprise. Domestic cats. At least seven, beautiful creatures, all different colored. A single young kitten was a bit of a scrapper, clawing me when I attempted to pick it up and cuddle. Unlike the others, it looked like an alley cat. Scraggily. The basement seemed like it was rarely used, unfinished, storage, but the cats had heaps of food in the corner. None of them ventured upstairs.
I stood on the front porch, glancing from side to side at the unfamiliar neighbors all scurrying around in the shade of their houses. There was a jeep in the road waiting for us, and I made a move towards it but was stopped by one of the catalpa house's young inhabitants. She told me to be careful walking into the sunlight because there were wolves that stalked in great numbers. You were safe in the shade, but in the sunlight they would get you. I did not see any wolves, and told her so, and she said just to wait. Suddenly I spot one. It is massive, inky black like it dripped along the ground instead of walking. Others flanked us, several together looking for those who might stray far enough away from houses to be caught.

Wolves may have positive or negative meaning and may represent good or evil in dreams. They could represent hostility, aggression, sneakiness, and ferocious appetites. In some cultures, wolves represent feminine energies and in others masculine. In the Native American culture and tradition, the wolf is a symbol of a mysterious and wonderful teacher. Wolves are considered to be powerful guides who offer wisdom and enlightenment. When interpreting your dream consider your feelings in it and the mood upon awakening. If you were mesmerised and not afraid, then give your dream positive meaning and accept its message.

Rooms in dreams, much like in waking life, are a way to compartmentalize aspects of our lives. We undertake certain tasks in certain rooms, for instance we sleep in a bedroom, work in an office room and cook in a kitchen.
In dreams different types of rooms represent different aspects of our subconscious, or symbolize thoughts connected with whatever we connect that type of room with in waking life. So, for instance, a kitchen in a dream may represent sustenance, cooking and eating, or even family gatherings - depending on how you use your kitchen in waking life.
Furthermore, the state of the room in your dream can tell you something about the message it is trying to convey, i.e. kitchen dreams may be telling you to eat more or eat less, or eat differently, depending on how it appears in your dream.
Discovering a new room in your dream could represent discovering a new part of your subconscious, a new aspect of yourself that you haven't explored before, an aspect that your subconscious thinks that you should explore.
As the Sun is the light of the spirit, so shadow is the negative
‘double’ of the body, or the image of its evil and base side. Among primitive
peoples, the notion that the shadow is the àlter ego or soul is firmly established;
it is also reflected in the folklore and literature of some advanced cultures (35). As
Frazer has noted, the primitive often regards his shadow, or his reflection in water or in a mirror, as his soul or as a vital part of himself (21). ‘Shadow’ is the term
given by Jung to the primitive and instinctive side of the individual.
Mystics have always traditionally considered the feminine aspect of
the universe as a chest, a house or a wall, as well as an enclosed garden. Another
symbolic association is that which equates the house (and the above, related
forms) with the repository of all wisdom, that is, tradition itself (4). In architectural symbolism, on the other hand, the house carries not only an overall symbolism but also particular associations attached to each of its component parts.
Nevertheless, the house as a home arouses strong, spontaneous associations with
the human body and human thought (or life, in other words), as has been confirmed empirically by psychoanalysts. Ania Teillard explains this by pointing
out that, in dreams, we employ the image of the house as a representation of the
different layers of the psyche. The outside of the house signifies the outward
appearance of Man: his personality or his mask. The various floors are related to
the vertical and spatial symbols. The roof and upper floor correspond to the head
and the mind, as well as to the conscious exercise of self-control. Similarly, the
basement corresponds to the unconscious and the instincts (just as sewers do, in
symbols pertaining to the city). The kitchen, since this is where foodstuff is
transformed, sometimes signifies the place or the moment of psychic transmutation in the alchemical sense. The intercommunicating rooms speak for themselves. The stairs are the link between the various planes of the psyche, but their
particular significance depends upon whether they are seen as ascending or descending. Finally, there is, as we have said, the association of the house with the
human body, especially regarding its openings, as was well understood by
Artemidorus Daldianus (56).
