I am walking up the hill on Mercer Island where I walk my dog, Shine, when two garbage trucks pull in front of me, not allowing me to pass. I become frustrated and walk up to them to find a way past. I then realize that these trucks are my Dad's work trucks! One worker is using one truck and the other doesn't have a driver. Roger is there- he tells me to use the truck. I try to steer it but I find myself feeling as if I am high on pot, or really sleepy. I can't control the truck and I ask Roger to take over. I jump off the truck and it crashes into a wall. I ask if a headlight is broken and Roger replied it is just a wrench. I leave the area, passing my Dad up, who is buying food... the dream continues for awhile... when it picks back up again I am outside and it is night. I see my Dad. He has a full white beard and white hair. I tell him that I think I had a dream where I felt high and crashed his truck. I tell him the dream. He laughs and says its interesting that Roger was the hero of the dream. I am confused what he means. He begins to walk away, walking towards the ocean beach. I follow him. There are houses along the strip of beach that light the beach up a little. The night sky is dark. My Dad stops where the waves hit the shore. He turns around and looks at me. I begin to feel all the grief and pain inside of me about my son who died, Elijah, and more and I run up to him. He wraps his arms around me and doesn't say anything, just holding me, accepting me. I cry in his arms, releasing the pain, feeling as if he understands everything. As I look down, in the surf of the water is a large piece of seafoam floating in on the water in the shape of a five pointed star. I awake crying and feeling accepted.
