Last night I indulged in a bit of a feast. The result was a full night of battling zombies.
In particular, the dream wasn't that interesting save for one part. After I had been on a watchtower with about twenty others in our last stand against the zombies, shooting, hitting, screaming, I flew away to the top of a Pre-Hispanic pyramid. It wasn't a big one, actually about the size of Tepozteco. It was obviously a ritual temple that hadn't been used for well over 500 years.
There was a native man there on the top. He was not struggling to keep Zombies away. He had a collection of bows and arrows, and some slingshots. He had a couple crossbows and other assorted weaponry. His hair was long, and he was wearing a red bandanna tied around his forehead, blue jeans, and an old button up long sleeved shirt. I looked down the side of the pyramid, and the zombies weren't even trying to climb up what would have been a fairly easy climb for them. I asked him his secret.
He said that you had to trick the zombies into thinking you weren't human. Apparently these zombies didn't eat animals, only other humans. He said that saturating your blood with a tea made from Rosemary, Rose Hips, and fresh garlic cloves, and wearing the same combination on your person would not only trick them into not smelling your humanness, but also repel them. I thanked him for his knowledge and woke up.
I looked up the magical and medicinal usage of these ingredients and this is some of what I found:
Rosemary: An old remedy for nervousness and headaches, calms menstrual cramping, the smoke repels insects. Anti inflammatory. Used in spells for protection, exorcisms, banishment, and purification. Leaving Rosemary under a bed or inside a pillowcase dispels nightmares and sleep paralysis. Protective against radiation. Place around the home to dispel evil and theft.
Rose Hips: Also protective against radiation, and anti inflammatory. Used as a poultice to heal wounds, and boosts the immune system. Used magically to boost love and balance, and protection against evil.
Garlic: Protection, healing, exorcism. Absorbs diseases, and was once used to guard against the plague. Placed in the home to guard against evil and theft. When worn it protects agains monsters.
Interesting. Very interesting.
