I'm sleeping in the cabin below my house,

I'm sleeping in the cabin below my house, which is on the waterfront. The bedroom is slightly different than the one in reality, somewhat boxier and with more child-like decor. My daughter Violet is sleeping in the room as well.

I am awoken from my sleep by a loud rumbling noise. Fear sets in. I recognize the onset of an earthquake. Objects are bouncing around the room, and I grab the lamp before it hits the floor. The shaking subsides, and I breath a sigh of relief, knowing that we are safe.

Then I see it. A wall of water, rising out of the ocean, obscuring Vancouver Island across the strait. The deluge reaches the shore and as I scramble to get Violet and I to safety, the wave crashes through the front windows, spiraling its way into the room. Grabbing Violet, I cling to the headboard, as various objects swirl around us. There is a surreal moment as I recall the scene from Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and I wonder if we're going to emerge in Narnia.

I wake up from this, startled, and it takes me a moment to realize that it was only a dream. I fire up my trusty dream dictionary iApp and look up waves, flooding, water. From what I gather, it relates to being overwhelmed by forces beyond your control, being helplessly swept along. Hard to relate, but surely there is some meaning here?
