He awoke from troubled dreams to greet the bright black light of the dawn. The world had moved on and it was time for him to move on with it. He prepared his mind for unknown territory, packing up his few belongings. He had very few things with him, this was the best way. Traveling light is the only way to fly, to be light enough to ride the breeze through its changes. His destination was a place where he could set at least a few things right, where he could find some answers. He had no idea where this place was or if it even existed. The smell of fire still lay heavy in the air, as it had since the new year began. Had it been so short a time? To his mind it seemed that eternities separated his old life with his current situation. Specters of death passed through his mind, torturing him anew. A thick dust had begun to settle over everything, a dust born of carnage and destruction. He was starting to adapt more quickly than expected to this brave new world however. He was on a journey that would finally teach him to merge with the dust, and one that would lift the veil of this cosmic illusion spun over his eyes.
