Strange dreams and strange happenings in the night...I awoke from a dream of a familial situation gone wrong, my father crashing his car and getting us lost due to my own needs (forgetting my backpack and needing transportation). My father was very upset with me in the dream and when I awoke there was a terrible fight thundering through the pre-dawn tranquility of San Marcos, Guatemala (where I had been sleeping). One or possibly two people were yelling in a German accent about a bottle of rum, hating all the "motherf**kers", and later about killing someone (if only they didn't love them). My girlfriend was especially bothered due to our inability to help. What could we do? Eventually the yelling was replaced by roosters and the howling of dogs at the full moon. I passed back into a dream slumber this time finding my girlfriend and I lost in an inexplicable future we soon discovered was Alaska some nine hundred years after an apocalyptic influenza and climactic event that had taken out most of the human race. The people here had rebuilt a world in this Alaskan valley that was like an idealized version of our familiar America. A group of mounted soldiers greeted us on arrival and for some reason they spoke Hebrew to us. The end of the dream was me discussing the future and the world being built with an old friend as we waited for my girlfriend to return from the store. In this Alaskan valley, the world we wanted was being built by those with vision.
