We were invaded by some sort of militia group, our whole neighborhood was emptied. Taken far away we were fed, kept alive and well. Some gave their loyalty to our captors, others did not. I did not...yet there was no fear, I knew it was okay, this was not a nightmare.
At one point it was lunch, there was so much food. If you wanted you could keep walking by the table without getting back in line. I grabbed two hotdogs, a very meager choice for the selection.
The there was a plan to escape, a small batch slipped out the door. A fight broke out, the guards came, I didn't make it out. Then it all skips ahead, I did escape, with the help of a friend...a furry friend.
Now I remember, he was just a little pup I found. For a time he was not around, while I was captive. The I saw him again, tearing apart the guards on watch as I slipped into the night.
Finding the other escapees was easy, we all crammed in a station wagon, under some groceries. A nice lady helped us get free. Yet when we arrived in our neighborhood it was all empty, beautiful, but empty. As if someone had come and made it all perfect for our return.
Thats when I flew, and I knew it. The take off, the flight, lifting high over the buildings. In my excitement and in the lucid sensation I tested how it worked, clumsily floating about.
I awoke to someone calling my phone on skype, have to remember to turn that off at night....then again, as soon as I hung up the nights dream came back. What a dream it was.
