I was at a party at a fancy house in Toronto where I was having a weird time and feeling like I didn't fit in. The people were dressed in weird punkish outfits. A woman asked to kiss me then before I could say, "no thanks" immediately said that she was kidding because I was "gross" and that I should leave. I left the house.
The property around the house was hilly and it took me some time to figure out how to get down to the street. I walked around in the dark woods around the property and eventually found a hillside covered in plastic that I was able to use as a slide to get down to the street. I didn't know where in the city I was.
It was very late and I walked to a main street nearby to try and catch a bus. I remember thinking, "I have a bus pass." The buses approached but would turn away before my stop. Then I woke up.
Throughout the dream there was a strong lucidity that I was dreaming (which is somewhat rare for me) and I kept thinking "I'm going to wake up and J [my boyfriend] will be with me again."
It was a great relief to wake up. I felt incredibly lucky to have him there and a sense of appreciation for his presence in my life came over me.
When I told him about it in the morning he said, "Don't wish to wake up when you know you're dreaming, you should have tried to fly!"
