I keep noticing that the time of day when I have the most vivid dreams, comes in the morning..right before I need to get up and be somewhere. It's like my subconcious anxiety starts to play out all sorts of different scenarios.
It started out with my boyfriend and I trying to flee the country. It seemed so difficult, because there was always some new obstacle trying to hold us to our house. I would keep hurrying him, due to running out of time, and then realize that I couldn't go anywhere without . First it was my passport, then my green card, then a picture of my family, then my dog Baxter, then Rosco, and so on. He was also having a hard time gathering what was most important to him before we left this house forever to flee to another land. His cats kept running from him, because they could sense that he was trying to take them out of their home. Same with his chickens. Somehow, they became amazing flying creatures and kept flying away just as he was withing reaching distance of one or two of them. It seemed hopeless-we would never be able to get EVERYTHING that we needed to leave for good. These possessions were holding us hostage in our own home.
I woke up briefly and tried to forget about this dream, and got some water.
Upon returning to my realm of dreaming, almost instantly after I fell back into deep sleep, I was on a strange island. My boyfriend was still with me, and we had a van full of stuff. I guess we had finally been able to leave the house! We had 3 companions with us, as well. My brother and sister were 2 of them as well as an old aquaintance from college. He was always rather awkward and put his foot in his mouth a lot. He was goofy and brought a light air to the mood in dangerous or scary moments. We had just parked our van on the side of the 1 way rainy street of this island. How we got a vehicle onto this island, which seemed very remote as far as accessing it, is beyond my dream. There seemed to be other cars on the island too. It was almost getting dark in the evening, and we had just arrived. Everyone, except for my siblings, wanted to start exploring the island-but they were worried that we would get lost in the dark and encounter some strange creatures or people and be unprepared. Against their wishes, we left everything in the van, and started trekking around the island. We noticed that there was only 1 really large building on the entire landscape, and it looked like it had a lot of different rooms and windows, like a dorm building at a college. There were high cliffs that dropped down to the beach areas surrounding the island. It looked like we would need some more daylight to traverse down to the ocean. We found groves of pine trees and palm trees everywhere, densely clustered together. I remember not even thinking twice about how weird this phenomena was, checking with my companions to see their reactions. It seemed normal, so we all decided to enter one of these groves. We could hear acoustic music emanating from within this pine/palm grove. When we got closer to the center, we found a glowing light and some college aged boys and girls playing instruments around a glowing light. The light was not a fire, it was just an orb that was suspended in the center of these people glowing. They didn't notice us at first, like it was normal for strangers to just walk up into their huddle. We sat and listened, and my boyfriend whispered to some guy with a guitar, after they had finished playing. I think he said "Gabriel?" and the boy responded with a big grin, and they hugged each other. Gabriel told us that this was his acoustic instrumental class. He then walked with us back to the enormous building that we had seen earlier. Magically our van of things was parked right outside of it, next to some other old rusty looking cars. We hung out with Gabriel and his roommates in their suite for the evening. In the morning we all ventured down the cliffs to the beach. There was a bunch of arguing and bickering the whole time, mostly between myself and this college friend of mine-and between my sister and my brother. My boyfriend was detached, and was taking the role of leading us all through the cliffside to the beaches below. Gabriel told us, once standing on the beach, that we came at a good time of the year to his island. There are "99 days of sunny summertime weather where you can enjoy the beach, and 99 days of 'winter' or rainy season". When my sister asked him what happened for the rest of the days in the year, he grew a solemn face and explained that we wouldn't want to be here for that. He pointed up in the sky, and created a little screen with his finger. There was a translucent movie that was going on. As we watched, we saw the same island we had been wandering all over-on the screen up in the sky. It was thundering and raining, and two sides of the island crashed into one another and a grey colored gravel-y substance began spewing out of the middle crack between the two halves. He then made his hand into a fist very quickly and the screen, along with it's turbulent weather, disappeared. We made a cool tipee that night right on the beach. We all 6 huddled inside of it laughing about something someone had said, and fell asleep.
I woke up. One of those rascally chickens had climbed into my garden, and was making a ruckus!
