Last weekend I traveled to Sooke for my good friend's wedding. The wedding was held at their parent's home which looks over the ocean. Those who attended were welcome to camp in their backyard, which is a vast and loving forest.
That night my lover and I fell asleep in our tent. We were weary from dancing for hours but we found it difficult to fall asleep as it was quite cold. So we huddled up with our blankets and tried to warm-up.
When I did finally manage to fall asleep, I was woken up shortly by the dream of an earthquake. I remember it quite vividly. I could feel intense shaking and the ground was trembling. I fell into a hypnogogic state and stared into the blackness of my tent as the shaking continued. I remember thinking that I should run for safety in case a tsunami was to hit.
But then I awoke in the morning and realized it was just a dream.
