09/15/11 - Dennisha and I, along with some other friends, are going on a picnic in Southern Arizona. We've got these coolers that are not cold, but we will be adding cold cheese to them, which will cool them off. I remember the coolers were originally lying on the ground of a parking garage, just outside of a storage space beneath a stairwell. There was a guy who wanted to throw them away, but I told him I'd deal with them. I put them away. They weren't mine, but I didn't want to see them get trashed.
I also remember that earlier (before our picnic plans) I had been standing nearby when Ben started making out with a girl he had recently met. Later on he told me that he wanted to be standing by a "hottie" to intimidate his new sweetie into kissing him. I felt embarrassed and weird being called a hottie by Ben. Then I had to play around on this suspended plastic jungle gym type thing, which was difficult to climb onto. My friends were around watching.
Back in the present moment, me and various other friends are hanging around this house. I sit on a couch and pick up a guitar and begin playing softly. An older man (someone I saw at an open mic the other night) is surprised and says he didn't know that I played. I stop playing because now it's time to pack up for the trip. The coolers are half packed, but I think Dennisha and the other friends there will be working on packing them.
We want to get to a high point in Southern AZ so that we have a view of the ocean. We're going to the southern border. It's my job to travel down there first and scope out a good spot for us. I make the journey and see beautiful expansive views of Arizona desert plateaus and ridges, with pink sunlight shining onto them. Everything is so open and amazingly serene. I realize that the sun is setting, and note how wonderful the light is on the hillsides.
When I get to the Southern border of the state I realize that it is too low in elevation for us to see to the ocean. There are other high points blocking the view. We will need to go further south, but now the sun is going down and it is getting too late. I end up in a low valley and arrive at a lagoon. The water is black, and I dive in, feeling very brave and free (I actually have a fear of diving). I swim through the lagoon and into a dark cave, where I climb out of the water onto a dark shore. I've been carrying these clothes, and I decide to set them down here. I also have a stack of books. I decide to swim out of the cave, but I leave the clothing in there, swimming out with my books. I return to the main shore outside, where a friend of mine is waiting. I don't think I'm going back for the clothes, but when we look back to the cave entrance we see Marilyn Monroe emerging. She looks so glamorous, and there are people with cameras flashing.
