08-30-11 - In a house and someone has had a huge bed delivered - it's bigger than a king and the delivery people just drop it in the middle of the living room. It takes up almost the entire room and block off the stairs going up to the second floor. The bed is for this guy, and he laments the placement of it. I ask him if he can even lift a corner of it to begin moving it, and he says it's hopeless.
Now the bed belongs to my mom and this scuzzy guy that she's with. I really despise this guy, too. There's a big, organized bike ride and I wish my mom would go on it. I'm talking to my brother as we sit on the edge of the bed. We're commiserating about mom. He agrees about the bike ride, and says that unfortunately she'll just end up watching. It would be really good for her, though. And good for her knees. Then someone is telling me that I should be a marathon runner, because that would be good for my knees. I laugh and say I'm just not ready for that.
As we sit on the bed mom is cooking food. Aunt Mary is over and there's this tension between her and mom, and I can see mom sort of muttering nasty things under her breath while she busies herself with cooking. Then, in a drunken mood, mom says she's going to lie down for a while and asks us to watch the food. This is so typical, I think to myself.
