Of dogs, monkeys, and birds...

I am walking down the street talking with my friend, a girl I've missed for a little while now, and for whom I care and respect very much.
I notice that my neighbor's dog [a black Scottish Terrier] in dead in the middle of the road. As I approach, it is apparent that he had been struck by a car; he is lying in a puddle of his own fluids, not moving or breathing. I am overcome with grief for my neighbor and her dog. Right when I am about to walk away, the dog whimpers. I rush up to him and lie on the ground next to him, looking at his face. His eyes open, and he begins to struggle to get up. To my surprise, he makes it onto his feet and begins to run around, with his tail wagging and with much energy.
I pick him up and carry him to my neighbor's house to return him to her, but when we ring the doorbell, nobody answers. We decide enter the house anyway, knowing that she (my neighbor) would understand.
I set the dog down in the side-yard and he happily scampers off. I notice activity in the back of the house, and as I proceed to see what's going on, I am greeted by their pet monkey (dreams, right?). He climbs up my arm and perches himself comfortably on my right shoulder. As I reach the backyard, the scene is more of a public park with a complex freeway interchange in the background. My pet conure (who in the waking world is living in the states with a friend of mine) flies out of the sky and lands on my left shoulder. He and the monkey seem to mostly get along except for occasionally teasing each other.
I walk out into the park where I encounter a large group of people I know from the states in what seems to be a fair of some sort (food, games, people generally having a good time).
Many of these people are interested in my bird and monkey, and want to hear about what it's like to have them, which I gladly oblige. I can feel the bird starting to become ancy, and I take him off my shoulder and release him into the air. He flies directly towards the complex urban freeway exchange, which alarms a few of my friends. I reassure them that it's fine, and that he would return (which in truth he'd never done before). He flies over the busy exchange, turns around, flies back, turns again, and completes the loop once more before returning to me and landing on my outstretched hand. I return him to my left shoulder, and feel absolutely blessed to have such amazing companions.
I wake up.
