I keep getting these vague flashbacks of a dream I had last night. The majority of the dream occurred in the neighborhood I grew up in, the point of focus was my old house. It was as real as could be, every detail I picked up on as a child, was manifested in this strange, reoccurring replica of my home. It made me feel complete.

There was some coherency in the dream which does not make sense to me in waking life. It seemed that I was a part of a close knit group of family and friends which took it upon themselves to protect the neighborhood. We went around in a group of two or three and patrolled the streets. We were able to communicate with each other, miles apart via telepathy so we essentially protected a large portion of the city. We possessed spectacular powers, not just in flight but in manifesting our very thoughts into action. This, made us fantastic protectors.

Something I remember very clearly... it was like a symbol, but it was more than just that... It was an act that came into being and forced us, therefore to also come into being.
It consisted of going through a particular hole in the fence that surrounded my old house. In the dream, it was like an initiation for those of us that went through. It proved something significant, each time we entered.. It was like a powerful portal and I experienced the entering and emerging, twice. Each time my sight seemed to slow, as my will propelled me forward, beyond any shade of doubt I previously held. I did not know how I was able to do this, it just happened as though it was meant to and I knew all would be well.

the universe as a chest, a house or a wall, as well as an enclosed garden. Another

out that, in dreams, we employ the image of the house as a representation of the
different layers of the psyche. The outside of the house signifies the outward
appearance of Man: his personality or his mask. The various floors are related to
the vertical and spatial symbols. The roof and upper floor correspond to the head
and the mind, as well as to the conscious exercise of self-control. Similarly, the
basement corresponds to the unconscious and the instincts (just as sewers do, in
symbols pertaining to the city). The kitchen, since this is where foodstuff is
transformed, sometimes signifies the place or the moment of psychic transmutation in the alchemical sense. The intercommunicating rooms speak for themselves. The stairs are the link between the various planes of the psyche, but their
particular significance depends upon whether they are seen as ascending or descending. Finally, there is, as we have said, the association of the house with the
human body, especially regarding its openings, as was well understood by
Artemidorus Daldianus (56).
