I dreamt I was babysitting for Jennifer, who I met through Damian. She had three children that I watched for four hours. At the end of it, she was offering me clothing and other things for payment. I think I took a couple of pair of jeans. I was tabulating the cost in my head, basically acting as if I was at Goodwill, buying jeans for $4.99 a pair. I took two pairs of jeans and left everything else. I wasn't interested in whatever else she was offering me. She kept telling me that she had just moved in and was showing me various areas where she had unpacked her things. Her boyfriend ended up giving me five one-dollar bills to pay for babysitting. I think she was either living with Damian or my friend Kate. I think I met up with Dillon or Kate and said something like, "I actually met some one who is cheaper than Vena-", meaning I had found some one who thought my services were worth even less than money. However, the five dollars her boyfriend gave me made me feel pretty happy. I remember thinking if I babysat for her again, I would ask up front if she had money to pay me, first.
The next part I remember was being part of some sort of experiment for the military. I had a partner as well. For some reason, we were wandering around in the field. Meanwhile, they were lobbing grenades all over the place. We very nearly hit a number of times. It seemed like the more that got thrown, the worse the hit ratio became. I think we both got gathered into a platoon and then some commander is telling us what we need to do next. I grumbled, "I don't care." He wanted to know who said it, so I was laying on the ground with my head down, hand raised. He didn't get upset, but he told me that I had to come along. I can't remember what the assignment was, but I was upset that it was taking me away from my return to the lab. We either got on a train or a bus. My companion was with me for a while, but got left behind at some point on the journey, fairly early on.
While we were on the train, we saw the draining of a river. As we passed by on the return (or maybe I had been on the train earlier) we saw dolphins, whales, and other large sea creatures that didn't belong in a freshwater river, but were nonetheless there. Each new glance seemed to behold a new creature. All of us were fascinated. This is how the dream ended.
