I first began experimentation with astral travel when I was 15. Became increasingly successful by the age of 16. I mostly used it to spy on the boyfriend I was obsessed with. We had an open relationship, but it always creeped him out that I'd know which girl he had spent the night with. Once he told me that he swore he could actually feel my presence in the room and that so had she. The girl freaked out and stopped hanging out with him. Heh.

I've had many strange and interesting experiences with astral travel. One of the most intense ones was the night of the 2001 house fire in the home I grew up in. That night, the closest neighbour claims to have seen me walking out of the house and across her front lawn. She even went so far as to describe what I had on, which happened to be the exact outfit I'd indeed been wearing as I slept on a friend's couch in the city, wasted on red wine and 'dreaming' of walking out of a fire.

During my time in Victoria (which ended in an epic seven week psychotic episode), I began to cross boundaries with people I knew in a really strange way. I once watched my best friend and her man make love and although they never knew, it became a weird energetic connection between us that didn't work out for the best. I also became uncannily good at finding my straying partner at afterparties in familiar spots.

When I first moved to The Sunshine Coast, I began traveling to Lower Gibsons, where I'd float out over the marina, finding it to be such a calming zone for me. My current favourite visited spot seems to be the rock and gem shop across the street from me, where I charge up with the crystals while noone else is in there.

I had a brief strange period where I used to travel into the cafe while I worked there. This proved to be completely unhealthy, and also alienated my then boss and good friend, Laurel. We'd been missing our honey containers for a few days, due to a new (and usually stoned) staff member misplacing them. I traveled in one night, and saw them on the back shelf, way up high near the ceiling. When I came in the next morning, I told Laurel, and she hopped up on a chair, and there they were. She started thinking I was a major freak after that, but I was just a bit of a workaholic and couldn't rest until everything was in its proper place.

I don't really travel in real life right now, so astral travel is how I get my kicks. Sometimes I just enjoy the sensation of floating around my house. It really is trippy.
