I went into Fong's Market in Lower Gibsons the other evening. I was bored and decided to go peruse their aisles of random objects to see if I could find a new notebook or something. As I was browsing, an old woman (I think she is the wife of the owner) came over to me. She looked distressed and wasn't able to communicate in English. It seemed like she wanted to show me something. The parts I could seem to make out were "I don't do this to customers, but you need...." She was waving her hands around like crazy in my personal bubble.
Instead of getting annoyed, I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for two seconds. I think I may have shushed her quickly, but she quieted up and it was the weirdest thing, but I suddenly knew what she meant. In my head there appeared a vision of a wand-like stick of what looked like sage. I opened my eyes and nodded to her. "For clearing," she said.
She gestured for me to wait for her, and she disappeared into the back of the store. When she came back, she had these long rolls of strange herbs wrapped in white cotton. I took one smell of them and fell instantly into a time tunnel. Something felt like it clicked into place. I bought both of them and said thank you to her. She kept saying, "I don't know how I know this! I don't know!" I gave her a bow and continued home, where I have been lighting small amounts of this unnamed substance to cleanse my aura. It's odour is intensely familiar.
When I told this story to my closest Native friend, she said that she'd been noticing the same thing... that my aura looked like it had holes or something. Said she didn't want to come off as weird or anything. But I definitely get it. Sometimes, when I'm experimenting with the other side, I get cling-ons who want to ride the wave back with me.
Since cleansing with this stuff, I've felt a lot less anxious and have been having hardly any negative thoughts. It seems like an ancient smell, but of course, I can't place where I would have smelled it before. At least, not in this life!
