I don't dream vividly when I share a bed with my wife. When she is out of town, I get little good sleep because my dream life is intense. Last night was one of these nights.
I was rolling around all night. Restless. I fell asleep.
I woke up, in that strange place I've been before a hundred times. Body is still asleep, I'm not totally attached to it. I feel like I could float away. I remember that now would be a good time to try to leave my earth body.
I start to sit up. I realize that my earth body is distracting me. I try to lightly focus on what the problem is. I've been there before, only to come fully awake because comprehending duality can be a frightening feeling. I realize that my earth body is snoring, and my throat hurts, I am excited and breathing fast and heavy.
This is the first time I've been able to interact with my physical body without waking up.
I am still halfway outside of my body, sitting up in the bed. I can feel my earth body laying on my back. I force myself to lick my lips, close my mouth, and slow down my breathing. Instant calm. I stand up outside of myself.
I look around in the darkness of my bedroom. There is a pale, neon on the ceiling. As my vision adjusts, I see that there are hundreds of circular, organic/mechanical gears. I touch the one that is lit. It brightens, and with it several other of these gears turn on. They move circularly and transform, like flowers. I touch some of the others that had come to life, each time the pattern would change.
I just float in that space for a time, and some of my waking life thoughts come to the surface. I remember my father talking about trying to talk to the creator when you are out in the astral. I say a thanksgiving. Nothing happens. I feel like I've overcome a challenge.
I feel totally alone in this place, like a speck of dust floating in an abyss. I'm not scared.
I look back to the ceiling, and I touch one more of the gears. This one was the key. As it began to turn, the other gears obliged to the key. I watched as they turned, and with that the path of movement showed rays of electricity and plasma. It was really beautiful.
I fell back to sleep.
