i recall being under 5 years old and having an incredible fear of walking beneath shopping mall skylights, since whenever i would go under them, i would have both open eye and auditory halluncations, which made me feel as though a vacuum was going to suck me up into the sky.
my fear was so strong actually, that i would just start screaming if i went to close to them, and fall to the floor, and try to dig my nails into the floor tiles in a desperate attempt to hold on the floor and not be be sucked up into the skylight.
the fear wore off over the years, but even today, when i go under mall skylights, i still feel a strange feeling of vertigo...but i kindof like it now that i'm used to it, and go under them intentionally, just because it almost feels like a weak form of reversed falling...
