I was back in Tallahassee with Kevin and Joe (both from Tallahassee) and Thomas (from college). We were longboarding about in Kevin's old neighborhood. I was borrowing a friends board and initially was having a great time, and it was really easy to do things like pumping I've always had trouble with. But after a few moments I couldn't control my speed, no matter what I did it would not slow down. I could go into a slide or start going uphill and it would hold its speed or accelerate. Even if I forced myself to fall I would hit the ground and get scraped up, then all of a sudden I would be back on the board with the same problem and with new wounds and tears in my jeans each time. As this continued I kept bleeding more, and getting farther and farther from the three of them. Even if I looped around, or back tracked I would just pass them with greater speed and be gone again without being able to communicate with them.
