Tom Hanks (the older, plumper version) is my father, and we move into unit #68 in the basement of a run-down building (6+8= Arcanum 14, Temperance). The complex is located in the industrial district on the outskirts of a large city. Father is at work that day, and I'm home alone. Our apartment is a dark, windowless one-room studio, with no separating walls whatsoever...not even for a bathroom. There are two toilets side-by-side on the east wall, above which are two television sets on shelves showing the news with the sound muted. We have a long table with three computers set up as a work station, and our beds are in the middle of the room. There is a tiny kitchen area on the west wall, and the ceiling is very low. Lady K comes over with food and says she is going to host a dinner party here. The food is served in tiny metal Indian Thali dishes, and there really isn't very much. I am ravenously hungry but feel like any amount of food I take would encroach on other guests' portions. My mouth is watering and I grow frustrated. Maygen comes over and eats some food, so I feel better about having some too. She starts poking around the apartment and I feel a bit embarrassed that it's so plain. I drop a very sizable bowel movement in the left-side toilet, and it overflows when I flush... oh no! Maygen flushes the other toilet and it overflows too. Arg! However, when the water flows over the floor, the apartment transforms into a beautiful palace. The ceiling grows taller, and the walls are now white. Sun streams in through windows that appear. There's a knock at the door...it's the landlord. He looks lie Gary Busey (who is kind of terrifying) and claims that I did not complete my rental agreement thoroughly. He holds up the contract and wants me to come into the hallway. I sense it is some sort of trick and refuse. He becomes red-faced and furious and lays down on the floor outside the door. The light from our now-beautified home casts a glow on his sullen face.
Mystics have always traditionally considered the feminine aspect of
the universe as a chest, a house or a wall, as well as an enclosed garden. Another
symbolic association is that which equates the house (and the above, related
forms) with the repository of all wisdom, that is, tradition itself (4). In architectural symbolism, on the other hand, the house carries not only an overall symbolism but also particular associations attached to each of its component parts.
Nevertheless, the house as a home arouses strong, spontaneous associations with
the human body and human thought (or life, in other words), as has been confirmed empirically by psychoanalysts. Ania Teillard explains this by pointing
out that, in dreams, we employ the image of the house as a representation of the
different layers of the psyche. The outside of the house signifies the outward
appearance of Man: his personality or his mask. The various floors are related to
the vertical and spatial symbols. The roof and upper floor correspond to the head
and the mind, as well as to the conscious exercise of self-control. Similarly, the
basement corresponds to the unconscious and the instincts (just as sewers do, in
symbols pertaining to the city). The kitchen, since this is where foodstuff is
transformed, sometimes signifies the place or the moment of psychic transmutation in the alchemical sense. The intercommunicating rooms speak for themselves. The stairs are the link between the various planes of the psyche, but their
particular significance depends upon whether they are seen as ascending or descending. Finally, there is, as we have said, the association of the house with the
human body, especially regarding its openings, as was well understood by
Artemidorus Daldianus (56).

In Cabbalistic symbolism, the sacred palace, or the ‘inner palace’, is
located at the junction of the six Directions of Space which, together with this
centre, form a septenary. It is, consequently, a symbol of the occult Centre—of
the ‘unmoved mover’ (28). It is also known as the ‘silver palace’, the ‘silver
thread’ being the hidden bond which joins man to his Origin and to his End (28).
This concept of the Centre embraces the heart and the mind; hence, in legends and
folktales, the palace of the old king contains secret chambers (representing the
unconscious) which hold treasure (or spiritual truths). Loeffler suggests that
palaces made of glass or of mirrors, and also those which suddenly appear as if by
magic, are specially symbolic of the ancestral memories of mankind—of the
basic, primitive awareness of the Golden Age (38).

For a young woman of moderate means to dream that she is a participant in the entertainment, and of equal social standing with others, is a sign of her advancement through marriage, or the generosity of relatives.
This is often a very deceitful and misleading dream to the young woman of humble circumstances; as it is generally induced in such cases by the unhealthy day dreams of her idle, empty brain. She should strive after this dream, to live by honest work, and restrain deceitful ambition by observing the fireside counsels of mother, and friends.

To dream about an apartment, symbolizes a financial or situational state. To dream of a large, lavish apartment, indicates an increase to your financial situation or an improvement to your family life. To dream of a shabby and dark apartment, indicates misfortune and possible loss.
When you dream of an apartment, try to remember its caracteristics: the bigger and wealthier it is, the more financially and emotionally successful you will get. The smaller and darker it is, the more financially and emotionally deprived you will be.
Its significance is diverse, depending upon which of its different characteristics is taken as fundamental. In the Egyptian system of hieroglyphs, the
wall is a determinative sign conveying the idea of ‘rising above the common level’
(19); clearly the predominant sense here is that of its height. A wall enclosing a
space is the ‘wall of lamentations’, symbolic of the sensation of the world as a
‘cavern’—of the doctrine of immanentism or the metaphysical notion of the
impossibility of reaching the outside. It expresses the ideas of impotence, delay,
resistance, or a limiting situation. Now, the wall seen from within as an enclosure
has a secondary implication of protection which, according to its function and the
attitude of the individual, may even be taken as its principal meaning. Psychoanalysts frequently regard it in this light and hence have classified it as a mothersymbol, comparable with the town and the house or home (56). Bayley sums up the two essential features of the wall as follows: Like the house, it is a mystic
symbol representing the feminine element of mankind. This enables us to understand the (otherwise absurd) assertion of the Shulamite in the Song of Songs: ‘I
am a wall’. At the same time, this image has another term of comparison, that of
matter as opposed to spirit (4). It should be noted that the symbolism in the latter
case remains unchanged, since matter corresponds to the passive or feminine
principle, and spirit to the active or masculine.
