Exploring my Old Homes in Hawaii...

I was in Hawaii with family and friends. We arrived at the place that we were going to be staying and I realized I had been there before. It was the home of a family friend. I explored the house, remembering everything about it. In the kitchen, I went through the high-up cupboards and discovered many treasures that I had left behind there. There were piles of photos, drawings, and other keepsakes - all evidence of my long-lost past. It seemed that I had spent more time here than I realized. Most of the photos were of me and my cousins and friends, but many were of me and my childhood friend Fritz. He also happened to be there with us presently. There was a little bit of shame between me and him, regarding the past and how I related to him then. One girl asked out loud about our history and I had to carefully explain that I had once been in love with him. It was awkward and I didn't like how he reacted to me mentioning the past.
There were tons of old sketchbooks of mine, filled with drawings and comics that I had once been so proud of. They were, in fact, quite good and spoke of a past when I put more effort into drawing than I do now.
Even my grandparents were there with us. Laurie and her husband showed up and I remembered being told they would. She hasn't seen me since I was a small child, so it was exciting to reconnect with her. She seemed like a blend of Laurie and mom's sister Barbara. When she arrived, I felt as if I grew a little younger and began acting more freely and more childish. I was enjoying running around with the other kids there.
We decided to take a walk with Grandma, my mom, and my cousin Rachel. We walked down and through a valley that had sugar cane and rice paddies and was also an Ashram. Up the other side of the valley, we came to another place where I had history. It was a house I had once lived in with Caitlin and Laura and Treasure. Caitlin was still there, as was a girl who looked like Laura but was not. I showed the family around. This house looked an awful lot like my dad's house when I was a kid. The lower unit was for rent and I called Daniel, excitedly bubbling about the real possibility of moving to Hawaii.
We went upstairs and I checked out my old bedroom. It looked straight down into the neighbor's bathroom window and as I was up there, I observed the girl who looked like Laura standing on point in front of the toilet and taking a massive shit. It was strange, but I'd never seen anyone take a poo before - especially not standing up, so I pretended not to see in case she looked up and saw me.
The place was a little run-down now, but it was filled with amazing people. Geo and Marisa and Android lived there. G & M were out, but Android came up to meet us. I pulled out my sketchbook that I had brought from earlier and explained that I loved his work and asked for his autograph. I told him I am a tattoo artist and his mood changed. In addition to his autograph, he left his phone number because he wanted to collaborate on designing some tattoos with me. I was thrilled!
We decided that we would stay the night here, and it was almost bedtime, so I decided to take a walk. I didn't feel that I'd had my daily allowance of exercise and I wanted to keep up on my routine. I headed out of the house and began to walk up a steep slope. There were quite a few people there, milling about. I passed a rather unimpressive aquarium. Just beyond that, I discovered something unexpected - a Mayan temple "ruin" - though it was in perfect condition - emerging out of the trees. I literally lost my balance and fell on my butt. I felt an energy rising within me and I felt that it was a latent connection to the pyramid power. As soon as I recognized it as that, I cultivated it more and more and very soon was able to float above the ground - energized by this ancient place.
I continued up the hill, barely touching the ground. I ran up a very steep slope and on the way passed a Shaman, treating a little black boy who was a crack baby. I could see a holographic image of his mother explaining that she had been using crack for the entire 12 months of his gestation. He was now severely addicted to crack and possibly never able to recover. The Shaman had him in a trance and while I quietly passed by, I observed the Shaman both looking at the boy, unflinchingly, and also looking directly at me, as if he had an extra set of eyes on the side of his head. It was a little creepy, but also really amazing. As he looked at me, I again felt a special power welling inside of me. This time I didn't just float, I flew. I swooped around the steep slope, at canyon's edge. I wanted to try my skills on a more treacherous terrain, but didn't know my limits so I tried to jump down a massive flight of stairs, in hopes of swooping up the other side. Unfortunately, this took me out of sight of the Shaman and as soon as I tried to pull up to swoop up the other side, I just did a face-plant onto the stairs. It hurt for a moment, then I was okay.
I returned back down the hill, to the home we were going to be staying the night in. I went out on the back porch, which was cantilevered over a great canyon. Across the way, I could see the Ashram which we'd crossed to get here. It was far away, but I had a telephoto lens on my camera and I could watch people as if I had a telescope. The strange thing is, as far away as we were, as soon as I would choose someone to look at, they would sense it and look right back at me.
After a while I turned my attention back inside the house. It was a little run-down, but still super-cool. I commented to someone that a house in this condition in the city would be a dump. But in Hawaii, it was charming. In the center of the house, they had a burning shrine that was also the heating for the whole house. It was a giant steel grating, on which they roasted oysters and clams. I asked if they ate the mollusks in addition to burning them as fuel. They said no. It was part of their religion not to consume animals. It seemed strange to me that burning them was okay though. In the kitchen, I was examining the rusted gas stove and I noticed a little jar with a pot leaf on it and a sticker that said "smoke me". I asked someone about it and she replied that smoking herb was against their beliefs as well. This seemed odd to me but I briefly considered that it would be an interesting place to raise Keira.
