It is dawn. The sky is light rose. The air is still at the forefront of another bustling day in busy downtown Seattle.
I am a young girl, standing on the sidewalk in a sun dress. The air is not yet warm enough for just a dress, but the color of the sky suggests a summer day. I am alone on the street, but very soon I am joined by two men.

I feel alone. I feel wronged... not even by the man who shot me, but by the scores of people stepping over me as if I was the morning trash forgotten on a neglected street corner. The sadness wells up in me. I begin to whimper to myself, feeling more and more alone as I am still completely ignored. My wound, though slowing me down, is not fatal and I haul my damaged body up off the pavement.
