No Food, Dear Leader. Save Boudika!...

I "slept on the couch last night". I put it in quotations because we don't have a couch. It's sort of an overstuffed beanbag actually. My stress levels have been in the red zone lately and I'm dying to sleep in my own quiet, temperature controlled head space right now.
I've been softening my depression by filling my head with documentaries on North Korea. Life may suck right now but at least I'm not trapped in a prison camp.
Sleep was restless and fleeting on the lumpy chair, but I somehow managed to half-dream that I did live in N. Korea. I don't recall much, other than the moments of brief waking that punctuated my resting state. I would start and quickly mutter under my breath, "Oh Great Leader! Oh Dear Father!" Each time it would happen though, I was conscious of the subconscious slip and it would crack me up.
At about 5 I returned to the bedroom. Dan was sleeping soundly and I squeezed in. Grateful that I was finally able to fully stretch out, I quickly passed back into the dreamworld.
This time, I dreamt that we were visiting family. Dan, Keira, the kitties and I were all visiting Dan's mom. But we weren't in Baltimore. It was somewhere kind of rainy and foggy and cold. We were staying in a glorified tent out on the expansive lawn. For some reason, we had furniture with us and I was realizing that it was mostly all ruined from exposure to rain. Mold and rot had overtaken my nice cherry dresser. I was really irritated. There were lots of other issues that were irritating me, but I don't remember many of them. The kitties were running around outside with us. It was approaching night and I was trying to figure out where we were going to sleep. There wasn't enough room under our little tarp-shanty to lie down without getting dripped or rained on. Also, we didn't seem to have any blankets.
(I feel that this is a direct reflection of my search for blankets when I decided to fall asleep in the living room. There was nothing more than a comforter cover, a large square of fleece from the sewing box, and my wool shoulder wrap.)
I went on a search and found myself in the kitchen of my childhood house. (A common setting for my dreams.) I was also looking for food. I was starving but couldn't seem to find anything that wasn't spoiled or gross. Very frustrating. This kitchen existed in a house that wasn't there, so when I left the kitchen, I was standing in a parking garage that was attached to an apartment complex. I saw the kitties running around and Bisou even knocked over a neighbor's (Jaden's mom's) potted plant. She shrieked and started complaining that Bisou ruined a $250 pea start. I ran over to collect Bisou and apologize for the plant but soon realized she was only exaggerating. The plant was fine. Bisou ran free.
My mom was there as well, though I didn't see her. I knew in my mind that she had gone to bed. Though it was supposedly night, it was still light out. Dan's mom was in the driveway, trying to wrangle Boudika. A neighbor was pulling out in their giant SUV and she didn't want Boudika to get hit. But Boudika was so determined not to be caught, she ran under the moving car, and got her leg caught under the tire.
She let out a yelp and the car stopped. She hobbled away with her rear leg bent the wrong way.
I instantly pulled out my phone and called my mom while I went and retrieved the hurt kitty. I asked her to find the nearest emergency vet clinic while I grabbed Bou and brought her inside. To my surprise, despite the obvious damage to her leg, she didn't seem frightened or even in a lot of pain. I supported her carefully and Dan's mom helped me bring her in.
Then we all left to find a vet. Luckily, there was one right around the corner. It was a tiny office, divided by a curtain. We all squeezed in. The vet was all set up for us and was very reassuring and personal. She had me hold Bou while she slathered her in a numbing ointment. After a moment I didn't need to hold her any more, so I left. I couldn't handle the stress. I went back around the corner to Mom's kitchen to try and make food. All of the dished were dirty, which was somehow Dan's fault and made me even more irritated with him. There still was no food anyway, so I went back to the vet's office. When I arrived, I walked in to find everyone spooning honey out of small cups with an assortment of necklace charms. Keira was really enjoying this activity but I noticed that Boudika was no longer being attended to. I thought about mentioning it to the vet, but she was a doctor so I figured she knew what she was doing. I left again.
Once outside, I walked over to a giant display for a Jeep dealership. They had one woman and five guys dressed up in ski outfits, doing a musical number to promote the Jeep sitting upstage that they had apparently all just piled out of. The number was partially improvised and on the final bar, the woman got cheeky and threw in a line about one of the guys' "packages", simultaneously reaching over and grabbing his crotch. I don't know why it was so clear in my mind's eye, but I saw a well-defined cock n' balls in his ski suit. He got embarrassed and they all scattered, throwing off their outfits and running for the nearest pub.
I followed them to find some food. When I got there, Dan's mom, my mom and Keira were there, already eating... except that there was no food left. I wandered off to check my e-mail. I'd received an e-mail from Treasure, about how she wanted us to come join her at her incredible home in Tahoe. I thought it would be a perfect vacation getaway, but then realized she wanted us to rent the master bedroom. The photo that she sent was actually a 3-d walk-through, so I wandered onto the property, circling the house. It was stunning! 3 stories, modern, square and bright with lots of windows. It had a brand new kitchen with gas stove and hardwoods throughout. The living room had a fireplace with a large sheepskin on the floor in front. Oh.... it was such a dream-house! And the rent was dirt cheap! It even had a view of the lake.
I went straight back to the vet office to find Dan. I wanted to share this with him and find out how he felt about moving to Tahoe. When I got there, everyone was gone but Dan was still there, kicking international coins around on the floor. I tried to get his attention but he was fixed on his task. I stood in front of him and he pushed me out of the way. I tried to hug him and she resisted. I asked him what was wrong, but was pulled clear out of the dream by my alarm going off.
This dream could not have been packed with more direct and clear metaphor.
