Dreamed that I was in a large building that was a theater as well as living space. There was rehearsal for a performance going on. I may or may not have been a part of it. I remember being in costume (sort of) but mostly I was just dressing up in sexy clothes and parading around like someone important.
As the dream went on, a party began and I wandered around like a social butterfly. I was hoping to smoke some herb or take some drugs but I had forgotten to bring any of my own and so was at the mercy of whatever people could offer. I didn't want to drink, so I avoided going to the bar, where so many people were hanging out.
At some point, I went wandering and came upon a strange mishap. On the level above me, there were hanging garden beds. I suppose for growing veggies? They were fertilized with manure, and in the dark of the corridor, as I wandered, I just so happened to step in a big sloppy pile of manure juices and it got all over my leg. I was grossed out and went in search of an emergency shower. Luckily, there was one just a little further down the corridor. I don't remember actually showering, but then I was clean again and decided that I was ready to head home for the night.
I was leaving, via the bar, and as I made my final approach to the exit, I happened to run into someone I never thought I'd see again.
Miah, the tattoo artist who first apprenticed me, was sitting at the bar, drinking and talking with some under-ager. I walked up and he looked at me and before he could say anything, I asked if I could buy him a drink. He looked resistant, and responded with a garble of slurs. He was clearly already quite intoxicated and I quickly retracted my offer, saying, "You don't need any more to drink." He asked me what I wanted and I told him I thought maybe we could talk. He agreed to talk and ordered himself another drink. I reviewed the beer on tap selection and decided on a Ballard Lager. Miah said he needed to do something, so while he disappeared and while I was waiting for my drink, I got up and mopped the entrance to the bar. It was part of my normal duties - something I would have to do before I could leave for the night anyway. I took the time to go over what I really wanted to say to Miah. It wouldn't be easy to speak with him, but I wanted the conversation to remain civil - and I really wanted to tell him about the new shop and my burgeoning career.
When he returned, he sat at the bar and turned to me, asking, "So what's up." Then I woke up before I could tell him anything. It was such a letdown.
