Floating with Ease Down a River in Europe...

I was in a space that I've been in before, in the dream universe. I dreamed long ago that I had access to a remote crow's nest balcony, high above the main room of a large warehouse-sized space. By going up the super-secret back stairway, I was able to climb up to this precarious loft. In last night's dream, I was there again, with Keira and Dan. I saw the crow's nest once more and I plotted how to get up to it. But the path was different this time. The super-secret stairway that had been there before was now gone. I was frustrated, wishing it could just be easy and let me go the way I'd gone before. The room we were in was a large museum/restaurant and I didn't feel that I fit in there.
Next, I was with my cousin. He was my cousin in the dream, but he was nothing like my real cousin. There was something about him that was familiar and vaguely familial, but I also felt a certain draw to him that made our interactions seem charged with an inexplicable energy. We were with a couple of other people, in a museum in Europe. It was beautiful but our sense of adventure was calling. We wanted to experience Europe for the parts that no tourist gets to see. We found a swiftly moving river, and found a passage through the reeds that lined it. We found some large, strong branches, on which to float downstream. The feeling of flowing in the river was wonderful and natural. I had a little trouble balancing on the branch and often travelled by simply floating in the water and letting the branch provide buoyancy. The other people came with us as well, but they were further behind. My cousin respected that I could keep up and that I was so capable at doing all the things he could do.
Sometimes, the water would become shallow - like through a sewer pipe or tunnel. When this happened, we had to get up and carry our branches. It was kind of a pain but soon enough we'd be back in the river, flowing along. After the first tunnel, the next place we had a portage was through my cousin's house. He apparently lived in a home that was positioned over the river. It was gorgeous and had many windows, looking out onto the water and the trees on the bank. Down the river, a busy city could be seen. We passed through his house but didn't stay. It was evident that he had a little boy, but the child was nowhere to be seen. I assumed he was somewhere else, since his dad was taking the day to float down a river.
I was confused about my feelings for my cousin. I sensed an attraction, he was fun and we got along great - almost like he was a brother. The more I accepted that he and I were related, and the more I relaxed, the more fun we had. A little further downstream, we stopped for food. We were in the European equivalent of a corner mart, but it was like a little country shop and it had the most amazing and high-quality things in it. I ate a toasted english muffin but it was the best english muffin I'd ever had! I also picked up a large, sharp knife, and started cutting chunks of fresh coconut meat - which was like cutting a soft papaya. The shopkeep mentioned that I was skilled with the knife. I can't remember my response, but I know I then told him that the food was amazing and my cousin and I agreed that the quality was because we were in Europe - everything was just better in Europe. Back on the river, we finally reached the furthest point of our destination. As we were approaching, a guy jet-skiied past us. He looked like Rasputin - with the beard and the robes. Very strange. Then the waterway opened out into a wide span and we let ourselves float to the shore. We dragged our branches onto the beach there and paused a moment to take in the wonders of the day. The other people caught up to us and very soon, everyone was swimming out in the water.
Instead of fearing the water, I dove right in and swam around with the others. It was so deep I had to tread, and I could feel things touching my legs, like underwater weeds and bits of debris, like wood. These things would ordinarily send me into a panic, but somehow in the dream I wasn't afraid because I knew I was safe and could handle it. Also, I was in Europe and this is the way Europeans have fun, so I felt good participating.
When I got out of the water, we realized that it was getting late and that we still had to get back, upstream. My cousin was concerned because he didn't know the way back but I convinced him to stay calm - that it would be easy enough just to follow the river. He tried not to watch as I changed my clothes in the shadows along with the other girl. I walked a little up the bank, scouting for more wood. I found some next to a cottage. There was a huge pile of planks next to it, so I figured no one would mind if I grabbed a couple. As I did so, I peeked in the large windows of the house, looking into their kitchen. Parts of the kitchen were clean and well organized, like the sink. Other areas were filthy and covered in food that had just been left there on the counter. I couldn't tell if someone was cooking and had left the room, or if someone had been cooking and then abandoned the home. It was strange.
I headed back to the shore and we pulled all our wood together to form a sort of raft. My cousin and I sat on the raft and the two other people swam beside it. We used branches to paddle back upstream. Oddly enough, traveling upstream was a cinch and we make double-time. We passed back through the tunnels and I took note of a feral cat running through the sewer. I thought maybe I would be frightened in here as well. It was cold and damp and getting very dark. But I chose to have no fear and passed through the tunnel with ease. Next, we arrived at my cousin's house again and decided to stay there. I walked around a little and took in the awesome decor. There was a large, colorful, spot-lit statue, about 4 feet high, of three dancing frogs in suits, with musical instruments. It was in the middle of his son's room.
I was exhausted and passed out on the floor, looking out the large living-room windows, at an amazing view of a bright and bustling European city.
