I dreamed that I was involved with writing, producing, and starring in a major stage production. It was a story that meant a great deal to me, that I'd been working on for a long time. I don't recall the impetus for turning the story to the stage, but it was a snap decision that I began to question immediately, and yet the gears had been set in motion and I was going to do everything in my power to make it happen.
The venue turned out to be a huge piece of property that belonged to a friend. Somewhere in the planning phases for the production, we realized that it would be a great front for a grow-op, so we began planning how we could build some innocuous buildings as part of the set that would then also function as grow houses. It was strange, but I don't actually know what the story was. In the dream, it unfolded moment by moment and made perfect sense then, but as I try to recall it, it was just a jumble of odd circumstantial randomness.
Dana was there, as well as Chase, from high school. They were helping me with the set. I realized that the football-field's size of property we were using was only going to be problematic because I was spending a lot of time running from one end to the other, to pick out props. Everything was at one end, but I wanted to have the performance at the other. It only made sense to have the performance on the upper field, where there was a natural sort of amphitheater. We worked through the play, scene by scene, writing, editing, casting, blocking, and building as we went. It was exhausting and more than a little stressful because we were only at the 4th scene when people began to arrive to watch the performance. I didn't know any of my lines or even my role in the play because it was revealing itself to me one scene at a time, but I maintained a calm and confident air, even as my parents arrived and wanted to spend time with me - not realizing my dire situation.
Even as I stirred awake, I fought to hang on to the dream - just one more scene! We can do this, we're almost there!
