Lost in a Tangle-town City, in Hawaii...

Dreamed that I was in Hawaii. Hanging out with friends on an expansive, white-sand beach. The surf was too powerful for me to swim, though I vaguely recollect getting in the water at some point and noting how comfortably warm it was. There were schools of dolphins dancing in the foamy crests. The waves were threatening to come all the way up to where we had set our stuff down. I saw a wave coming and scrambled to pick up the stuff, but a few things washed away with the frothy tide. I ran after a medium sized box that nearly slipped beneath the waves, but as I approached, a kayak emerged from beneath the water and the boat swept up the box and delivered it safely to me.
I got in the kayak and paddled down the beach, heading toward a nearby city. I knew that I needed to go to the bathroom and I guess I thought I needed something else there. When I got to the city, I walked through a bustling marketplace, half indoor, half outdoor. It was a tourist destination and people of all types were bustling about, visiting night clubs, gambling, and shopping the mall-like market. The whole city was built on a pier, jettied out over the water, which gave it the allure of a sci-fi floating city.
I found a bathroom and entered the stall. It was the only bathroom I could find and it was remarkably clean, compared with the typical toilets in my dreams. The only issue was that the seat had a spray of water on it, and I couldn't discern if it was toilet water or pee. Apparently I didn't care enough because I happily used the bathroom. When I came out, I entered the madness of the busy city. I needed to figure out where I had come from, because I wanted to return to the beach where my friends were. But I was totally turned around. I had a vague notion of the direction I needed to head, but even as I walked that way, I felt lost as I didn't recognize any of it.
I passed by an outdoor nightclub and a good looking guy threw his arm around my neck and coaxed me to join him and his friends for a cocktail. He was bragging about how he'd met me and I was sort of flattered, but I knew he was lying so I was really awkward. To get out of it, I invited him and his friends to join me on the beach. They were thrilled to hear of a beach where the "water is as warm as bath water", and they were excited to join me. But I didn't really know how to get there, so I just said, follow the edge of the land, with the water on your right, and you'll come to it. Simple enough, but as I, myself, tried to head that way, I wound up struggling through the maze of the city, as if the tangle-town of industry had become a literal impediment to travel.
I passed by an outdoor casino and seem to remember greeting Susy, or at least knowing that she was in there somewhere. I wanted to go in, but my drive to return to the beach was much stronger. I headed into a large building that housed a restaurant and tried to escape through their kitchen. I wound up crawling through a maze of pipes that ultimately led to a window/vent, through which I could see the light of day. But the closer I got to that window, the worse I got entangled in the mess, to the point where I realized I just couldn't get out that way.
Eventually I got out of the maze, left the restaurant, and finally recognized the path I had come in on. I was well on my way to returning to the beach when daylight started creeping through my lids and morning called me away from the dream. I fought it for a while, but abandoned all hope when I realized it was snowing outside and my excitement overcame my desire to continue in the dream.
