I was on the upper floors of a hospital, in a wheelchair, awaiting oral surgery. It was pretty boring. I'd get wheeled from one area to another, to another, and then I'd be sitting around for what seemed like forever between. My anesthetic just wasn't kicking in. Periodically someone would check to see if my eye was dilated. It wasn't, and the hours were going by.
My mouth was full of cotton wads. They had been in there so long that they were actually disintegrating from hours of being saturated with saliva!
One intern suddenly got an idea. "Hey, I think you know this guy who's sitting over by a window on the other side of the floor." He wheeled me over there, at which point I realized it was nobody I wanted to be around. But by then it was too late... :(
Then I had a vivid picture: like a painting of a group of female nudes, very blocky patches of color, not unlike a chunky mosaic. No gradients. It was in white, ochre and tan flesh tones.
