This dream is kind of like... "Cube" series meets "Smash TV" meets "Tron" --
I remember being in some kind of boardroom and then all of a sudden all but three or four of us were killed by sniper fire or something...
The person sitting at the head of the table said something like, "Welcome to the game."
Next I remember 'hiding' in plain sight just down the hall on the same floor as the boardroom. A really obvious spot actually... I was prone/face down ish kind of obscured by a metal grate that had a high enough clearance off the ground to be able to roll under... There were a few people in the office going about their business, it wasn't until the third or fourth person to pass my spot before I was spotted. Then I had to run for the elevator.
Getting out of the elevator was some kind of guard or policeman-- He told me to hold the elevator for him (as we were on the 99th floor or something ridiculous like that). I pushed the door open button as it was closing and it opened, but then immediately began to close again. I did this maybe five times before deciding to just go for it. I remember seeing either Tim or Michael F in a reflection through the little gap between the elevator door. I yelled to them to come out because I saw them, and it turned out they were both there working together.
The elevator then changed into a fairly large room. And we then discussed our strategy, whether we should continue to use the elevator or climb through the various ducts and corridors.
Then a 'sentry' came through the elevator door and engaged us in battle. We were equipped with these things that were like the length of a cubit, and they were like a 'claw' that was operated in a similar fashion to a 'loose tea steeper' where you squeeze the two sides (kind of looks like a safety pin) and the tea-sphere opens (except in this case, the claw closed). Anywho, somehow we intuitively knew that you fought this thing like you'd fight Gannon(dorf) in Zelda. You would dodge its physical attacks/charges, and then you'd wait for it to shoot energy balls at you and then bat them back.
After defeating the sentinel we decided it would be safer and a better option to advance through the ducts.
We had to be very cat/octopus like to fit through some passages that weren't exactly meant for humans. Somehow it was all doable.
Eventually though we were warned that we only had very little time to make it to the end. With Tim & Mike leading the way, I didn't necessarily know what lay ahead. We got stopped in this spot with about a minute left. What was blocking us was either a dead combatant or someone who got stuck in the duct/pipe. Luckily a room was accessible and I went into it. There were other people scrambling to escape.
There were several options to get out, but the one that I saw that had been used was about two stories up, and there was no ladder or stairs to get there.
I saw pants tied to something, and then a sweater tied to something else just above that to make a crude 'rope.' So without hesitation I went for it and climbed up the pants to the sweater, which I then had to swing on to get momentum and catch a ledge with my hands. I could have either swung to the left or the right, but made the choice to go to the right, I had to get to the full 180 degrees of swinging in order to ensure full momentum.
I caught the front of the ledge with my hands, but didn't have the full strength to pull myself up, so I had to shimmy to the left so I could use my feet/legs on the wall to help me up. Then I had to go head first through a chest/throat-level window in order to get into the next room, which was something like the main shaft of the tower.
Once I get through and catch my breath, I notice a beautiful woman come through the window behind me. Then on the loud-speaker it says, congratulations, your time has been extended. You now have ten minutes to complete this portion / escape.
And that was the end of my dream.
In another dream from earlier in the night, I'm in my gradeschool. I drink from a water-fountain next to what was formerly the 'Reading/English enrichment' room, and have a conversation with an adult there about what that room used to be, and how the school cut the Math/English enrichment programs when I went from 5th to 6th grade. How we 'regressed' and had to go backwards because they wanted to standardize / make uniform the curriculum/aptitude of the students... I think it was to correspond with 'no child left behind.'
