Three Sacred Circles, Collaboration

In the dream, I'm hanging out in Marin County California with a group of theater / performance people. I interact mainly with a young woman and a man who are the leaders of the theatrical group. We are in a location that is surrounded by forest, and we are standing outside of a theater. I'm shown some piece of image art that someone else created. The image is like a drawing or painting on paper, but also seems like it might be digital because of some motion or indication of dynamism in its design. It's maybe even presented on a computer display, about the size of a touch-screen tablet / iPad. The image really captures my attention, and I look carefully at the details: there are 3 light-blue-(with some greenish) circles on a generally white background. The 3 circles are close together, almost overlapping, like the archetypal trinity symbol commonly seen. Although the circles are not overlapping, there are spiraling lines that interconnect them, and I understand that this generally represents the archetype of the sacred trinity (where the circles do intersect). The blue circles are also highly texturized in representation, somewhat organic, with radial lines coming from the center of each circle outward making its area "fill" (similar to sliced kiwi or something). There are also spirals within each circle. There is faint and minimalistic organic texturizations within the white space with various shades of light-blue, green, and white. The sense of dynamism makes me think that these are representative of fractals. I like the drawing so much, it inspires me. I consider how I can make it my own, how to incorporate something similar into my own art, likely as a digitally interactive piece.

Then I'm invited by the woman to do some graphic print design for a flyer to be used to promote and inform a performance production coming up soon. I am like "sure", tho as graphic *print* design is not exactly my specialty nor my greatest inspiration (I'm much more inspired by digital interactive design), I'm feeling somewhat casual and mediocre about the arrangement. Generally tho, I feel moved to participate and be in service to a collective production.

When it comes time to make the flyer, I take some information and resources they gave me, and casually put together a first draft, or maybe even a few drafts in a kind of casual and quick patch-work kind of way. There is a very large stack of photos of people they have given me. The stack of photos is like several stacks of cards. I take some of these photos and use a type of printing press machine and glue to put some of the pictures onto a piece of simple white paper, and then cut and paste some very simple black and white words for font titles and such. When I deliver these print drafts to the woman and the man (and the man is now Ed Collier, who was my drama teacher in college), the woman is disappointed because they are nowhere near the higher quality she had imagined and hoped for. Also, it becomes apparent that the performance is actually happening very soon, and they will have to pass out these flyers as they are now. I had not understood that the performance opening was happening right away. I thought we had more time to work on the flyer graphics. We are at the theater, and I can see that many people are arriving to see the show. I also feel a little disappointed that the woman is disappointed, tho I also feel rather detached as it is very clear that this "job" was not in alignment with my highest inspirations (I really do not prefer print design). And the completion time was not clear to me. I feel that the situation was somewhat set up to fail, and if there had just been better communication between me and the women, and I'd known the flyers needed to be prepared sooner, I could have produced much better results.

Anyway, the woman takes the stack of draft flyers to Ed for review. They are standing in the main entry way of the theater, and I cannot see their reactions. I make a conscious lucid decision within the dream to move to their location to come face-to-face with their response. When I arrive, Ed is not as disappointed as I had imagined he might be. His attitude is like, "no big deal", and he's casual and relaxed as he looks at the draft flyers with interest. He is looking at one of the flyers where there is a photograph of a young and beautiful girl in a light-blue dress, posing casually in a bright green natural forest environment. The way her body is posed, is diagonal across the picture, and it all looks idyllic and archetypal like a nature goddess. Somehow this photo seems very familiar to me, and it seems that maybe I even know the girl. Directly below that photo is a tarot card. Ed is pointing out how interesting it is that the photo of the girl is somehow so similar to the design of the tarot card, as if they are actually representative of the same thing, the same archetype. I see that the tarot card also has traces of green and blue, and somehow similar in morphology and design. What I see of the tarot card in detail in generally vague, tho I can tell there are two or more people on either side of the center axis of the card. The human figures on the card seem to represent the same general body form of the girl in the photo graphic (although there are two or more people, it is somehow the same as the single girl). When I examine the tarot card carefully, I see at the top of the card a small image of the sacred trinity symbol: three intersecting rings. This part of the card stands out to me very clearly, and I focus on it for a short moment. I come to recognize the tarot card, and say it in the dream, that this is "the Three of Pentacles (Disks)."

Then I am inside the theater, lounging casually and diagonally across a row of red velvet theater seats waiting for the show to begin. I am very relaxed, tho still somewhat a little bothered by the misunderstanding with the flyers. Many people are streaming past me down isle ways. There are lots of woman dressed in long-flowing gowns, hurriedly running down the isle getting ready for the performance. The young woman comes in. I now somehow know her name is "Maria", and she is wearing a white wedding dress. As she passes by me, she calls out, "Michael!". I respond with "Ya?!", kind of despondent. She replies with, "Speak in English!", maybe insinuating that my response was uninterpretable or something? I am not certain if she was even talking to me. She then sits next to another man a few seats away ... tho it seems she would rather sit next to me. I begin to become lucid. I awake.
