I dreamed I ended up having to jump in a moving jeep in traffic and take control of the vehicle. Here's what I discovered after getting behind the wheel:
-The breaks didn't work
-Neither did the gas
-There was snow/sleet on the ground
-There was a bunch of traffic
-It was night time
-We were traveling at high speeds
-The roads were very windy
-AND I was mildly inebriated
On the first sharp turn I really learned about the state of the brakes and gas. I flew off an embankment and the car and I tumbled into the tree line over a cliff. As the car was flipping, suddenly there was a girl in the passenger seat, seemingly just there to scream and provide theatrical effect. I watched in wonder and attention as the car dented and flipped around me.
The car landed right side up and I was unharmed. I checked the engine and it still turned over (yes!), so I started the process of strategizing to get it back up the hill and on the road before any law enforcement arrived and took up a whole bunch of time and energy.
I somehow willed the jeep back up to street level and fixed the breaks and gas pedals so they functioned normally. I tested them both quickly and got back on the road.
After all that, I managed a photo shoot for a few days out of a little cottage by the sea. An old lady lived next door and I remember sort of sneaking about her place, only somewhat allowed to be there for some reason.
I think the most intense part of this dream was not the dream itself, but waking up and looking for an image to portray it. The image search results pulled up a hunter's forum and an image of a fox with a bloody tail from having been trapped. The hunters on the forum were patting each other in the back and ending their messages with "In Christ" as they decided which bullet to use to kill the fox. There was also an image of another animal with it's guts pouring out from having been shot and a guy saying "man, I love this stuff!" This throws a cast of rage, sadness, and difficulty in maintaining zen on my whole emotional scape.
