My son. Learning. Mountain Bikes on gravel

Fast traveling through the dreamsphere.

I had a 2 year old son who was talking a lot already.
His papa was gorgeous and he loved me deeply.
I remember looking at him and feeling so much joy and love for him
and our son. Proud too that my boy was so smart.

I was reading some sort of dictionary, beginning at the beginning. I had a sharp fine point pen that I was making marks with. I was determined to learn the whole dictionary and be very thorough. They were words but mostly concepts. That didn't matter. What mattered was that I wasn't daunted by the task of memorizing and learning everything in that book.

Out in the country somewhere. Swampy areas, canals, rivers. Dirt and gravel roads as well as rock roads. I am on a mountain bike. That's what a lot of people are doing here. Camping, hiking, racing their bikes, and enjoying the diversion from their "lives". I am riding this bike and going for it. I slide out pretty hard on this road. People are worried about me as they see me crash. I am OK. I wish no one saw me though. It was inevitable to crash how I was riding on this loose gravel road. It was like a duh moment. What did I expect? I wasn't sure what other people were doing. I didn't watch where others were riding their bikes. I have been here before. (Not as traumatic or graphic but now reading this it reminds me of when I rolled my truck on a gravel road and the inner unconscious chaos in my life at the time. ) Feels like a warning now.

To be logical about the physical circumstances of a situation and to avoid the inevitable by walking/being slow/feeling the ground beneath my feet and watching what other people are doing. Other people who have been through this terrain. They come every year! I have been here before. I come alone. I come with no fear and no consciousness of a body that can be hurt or an ego that can be bruised. But it can.
Pay attention. Take care. Don't be hasty. If no one is in the water you might not want to get in. or you might just say fuck it and deal with whatever comes of your lone adventures...
