3/15/2012. zombie..."hypnotized person bereft of consciousness and self-awareness, yet ambulant and able to respond to surrounding stimuli"
oh shit the zombies. great! people are teaming up.follow the crowd, enclose yourself to feel safe, its death this mob mentality whether you're the zombie herd or the humans huddled together in fear.
inside a complex of houses and apartments. i am urged to go into a building to eat lunch with all the other humans afraid for their life. I don't want to.
zombies are slow. i can get away and then i don't have to be stuck in the herd.
my traveling companion, female, an old friend is scared more of freedom, escaping the "complex". there are zombies out there waiting for us in the bush, to ambush. we are warned. i never knew there were smart zombies waiting around quietly , stealthily, patiently waiting...
I urge her to come running with me beyond the perimeters of our group.
the zombies were close all around. i knew we could get beyond the border and really taste freedom.
she was scared so I said
"Hey this is a dream! We are dreaming. What do we have to lose? we can always try it and if you don't like it or there are zombie herds out there we can always come back :)
She liked this dream reazoning.
we ran out together through the buildings. out to a bike path and onto a residential street. it was night. we looked naked on the streets to her. a big bulls-eye. zombie bait.
i said no way there are no zombies around! lets go!
running down the street @ 20mph we see humans all around living life at night, walking dogs, riding bikes, cars, and stop signs.
she is scared
its contagious. i freak out to for a second
i huddle under a parked overturned boat at an intersection curb.
She is worried of people seeing us
They aren't the zombies silly! I snap out of it and keep on running. somewhere a girl ushers us in.
she is sweet. demure. LIGHT. angelic maiden. host to us refugees.
a large brick colonial building.
an all girls school.
sanctum. refuge. peace. fort. retreat. home for now.
we come in and everything is clean. in order. harmony
i am in her long rectangular wooden room with stained glass windows and high ceilings.
the bed is long too. low to the ground. could probably fit 20 people side by side.
white crisp linen sheets. i am on the bed. touching it. feeling ultra comfort.
she invites us in and tells us the scoop: the courtyard opens out to the town. it's a portal. a gate. a zombie proof fortress. hidden but very visible. it feels like Eden out there. sunny day. trees. birds. cloudless sky.
a key to the city. a way out. a stepping stone. an entry point to LIFE.
LIGHT.
Reality.
freedom
