1.20.2012 Its almost dark. But its bluegray outside and everywhere.
I am in a large body of water. I see no land in front of me. It is oceanic in vastness bust I know its not the sea. Its a swamp. A river with an unusual current system. It is filled with alligators. As I realize this I am thinking . Oh shit . I manifest a few trees sprouting out of the water leafless and as thick as my wrists.
A few rotten tree stumps too. I stand on them trying to get onto higher ground.
I'm rather amused at my feeble attempts to get out of this situation.
I slunk into the water and began to feel. Began to get present. To ground my energy in the environment. Instantly I was at ease. In awe. And awake. I started calling alligator. When I turned around and floated on my back there was a large mountainous island. I was swimming away fast mimiking lizard/alligator.
I started crusing through the water fast. I felt like I could meld into the place and belong and the alligators would accept me as one of them.
As I am cruisng through the water I see a large alligator surface and following me through the water in a very exaggerated zigzagg motion/dance.
The sun is rising. Its getting lighter. At my left coming out of the water is a metal staircase (spiral and wide) I'm relieved to get out of the water. He felt defeated. He really wanted me. I walked up the staircase and it turns into a social room complete with a bar. (Like a clubhouse on stilts above this large sparse river)
Everyone was like " oh hey you made it" I was annoyed because they hadn't been where I was. They were like watching from a vantage eating snacks and drinking. Like I was a spectator sport and they were in the box seats partying.
I went to the bar and poured myself a shot of whiskey. I felt like I deserved it and I was celebrating the test. I walked out through this room into another scene.
Instead of fear I chose to be awake! To remember that nothing could harm me.
Due to my bravery I was able to mimic the speed and focus of my ally.
I could hang in its environment awake and in awe. I could manifest the security I needed but only after surrendering to the unknown, to the danger, to the death or dismemberment of my ego. I have always swam with these beings but my relationship with them and within their environments is always changing and bringing me even closer to them and myself. I have let them eat me and "attack " me but it brought no pain or even blood. Still what remains is my awareness of their raw hunger and power. There is this idea that if you are within sight they will attack you. Even more so than sharks but is this true? Not in my dreams...

form symbolizing the orbit of the moon (50), and a symbol for growth, related to
the Golden Number (32), arising (so Housay maintains) out of the concept of the
rotation of the earth. In the Egyptian system of hieroglyphs the spiral—corresponding to the Hebrew vau—denotes cosmic forms in motion, or the relationship between unity and multiplicity. Of especial importance in relation to the
spiral are bonds and serpents. The spiral is essentially macrocosmic (19). The
above ideas have been expressed in mythic form as follows: ‘From out of the
unfathomable deeps there arose a circle shaped in spirals. . . . Coiled up within the
spirals, lies a snake, a symbol of wisdom and eternity’ (9). Now, the spiral can be
found in three main forms: expanding (as in the nebula), contracting (like the
whirlwind or whirlpool) or ossified (like the snail’s shell). In the first case it is an
active sun-symbol, in the second and third cases it is a negative moon-symbol
(17). Nevertheless, most theorists, including Eliade, are agreed that the symbolism of the spiral is fairly complex and of doubtful origin. Its relationship with
lunar animals and with water has been provisionally admitted (18). Going right
back to the most ancient traditions, we find the distinction being made between
the creative spiral (rising in a clockwise direction, and attributed to Pallas Athene)
and the destructive spiral like a whirlwind (which twirls round to the left, and is
an attribute of Poseidon) (51). As we have seen, the spiral (like the snake or
serpent and the Kundalini force of Tantrist doctrine) can also represent the potential centre as in the example of the spider’s web. Be that as it may, the spiral is
certainly one of the essential motifs of the symbolism of ornamental art all over
the world, either in the simple form of a curve curling up from a given point, or in
the shape of scrolls, or sigmas, etc. Parkin observes in his Prehistoric Art that ‘no
ornamental motif seems to have been more attractive than the spiral’. Ortiz (41)
suggests that, from a semantic point of view, the spiral is an emblem of atmo- spheric phenomena and of the hurricane in particular; but the fact is that the
hurricane in its turn is a symbol of secession from the creative (as well as destructive) functions of the universe, that is, of the suspension of the provisional but
pacific order of the universe. He also points to the connexion between breathing
and the creative breath of life. He goes on to suggest that the volute in ancient
cultures was a spiral form symbolizing the breath and the spirit. It is for this
reason that the Egyptian god Thoth is represented with a large spiral on his head.
Finally, by virtue of its significance in connexion with creation, with movement
and progressive development, the spiral is an attribute of power, found in the
sceptre of the Egyptian pharaoh, in the lituus of Roman augurs and in the presentday walking-stick. In addition to the above, it is also possible that the spiral may
symbolize the relationship between the circle and the centre. For the spiral is
associated with the idea of the dance, and especially with primitive dances of
healing and incantation, when the pattern of movement develops as a spiral curve.
Such spiral movements (closely related to the pattern of the mandala and to the
spiral form that appears so frequently in art from the Mesolithic Age onwards—
particularly in France, Ireland and England) may be regarded as figures intended
to induce a state of ecstasy and to enable man to escape from the material world
and to enter the beyond, through the ‘hole’ symbolized by the mystic Centre.
Striking examples of such spirals are those of Gravinias (Morbihan), New Grange
(Leinster), Carnwath (Scotland) and Castle Archdall (Ulster).

The Watchers appear in Biblical apocrypha, in the first and second books of Enoch and Jubilees. The word "Grigori" derives from the Slavonic Second Book of Enoch. These creatures are said to wander the world in the form of evil spirit, endlessly yearning for food though they have no mouths to eat, endlessly thirsty though they cannot drink. Endlessly seeking these things from the living, the evil spirits seek to possess weak-willed men and women to dispossess their spirits and to take over their bodies so as to partake of food and drink. According to the Book of Enoch, which details the fall of the Watchers numbered a total of 200 but only their leaders are named:

Araqiel (also Arakiel, Araqael, Araciel, Arqael, Sarquael, Arkiel, Arkas) taught humans the signs of the earth. However, in the Sibylline Oracles, Araqiel is referred to not as a fallen angel, or Watcher, but as one of the 5 angels who lead the souls of men to judgement, the other 4 being Ramiel, Uriel, Samiel, and Azazel.
Armaros (also Amaros) in Enoch I taught men the resolving of enchantments.
Azazel taught men to make knives, swords, shields, and how to devise ornaments and cosmetics.
Gadriel taught the art of cosmetics.
Baraqel (Baraqiel) taught men astrology
Bezaliel mentioned in Enoch I, left out of most translations due to damaged manuscripts and problematic transmission of the text.
Chazaqiel (sometimes Ezeqeel) taught men the signs of the clouds (meteorology).
Kokabiel (also Kakabel, Kochbiel, Kokbiel, Kabaiel, and Kochab), is a high-ranking, holy angel but, in general apocryphal lore and also in Enoch I, he is a fallen Watcher, resident of nether realms, and commands 365,000 surrogate spirits to do his bidding. Among other duties, he instructs his fellows in astrology.
Penemue "taught mankind the art of writing with ink and paper," and taught "the children of men the bitter and the sweet and the secrets of wisdom."
Sariel (also Suriel) taught mankind about the courses of the moon (at one time regarded as forbidden knowledge).
Samyaza (also Shemyazaz, Shamazya, Semiaza, Shemhazi, Semyaza and Amezyarak) is one of the leaders of the fall from heaven.
Shamsiel, once a guardian of Eden, served as one of the 2 chief aides to the archangel Uriel (the other aide being Hasdiel) when Uriel bore his standard into battle, and is the head of 365 legions of angels and also crowns prayers, accompanying them to the 5th heaven. He is referred to as one of the Watchers. He is a fallen angel who teaches the signs of the sun.

In Egyptian hieroglyphs, the symbol for water is a wavy line with
small sharp crests, representing the water’s surface. The same sign, when tripled,
symbolizes a volume of water, that is, the primaeval ocean and prime matter.
According to hermetic tradition, the god Nu was the substance from which the
gods of the first ennead emerged (19). The Chinese consider water as the specific
abode of the dragon, because all life comes from the waters (13). In the Vedas,
water is referred to as mâtritamâh (the most maternal) because, in the beginning,
everything was like a sea without light. In India, this element is generally regarded
as the preserver of life, circulating throughout the whole of nature, in the form of
rain, sap, milk and blood. Limitless and immortal, the waters are the beginning and
the end of all things on earth (60). Although water is, in appearance, formless,
ancient cultures made a distinction between ‘upper waters’ and ‘lower waters’.
The former correspond to the potential or what is still possible, the latter to what
is actual or already created (26). In a general sense, the concept of ‘water’ stands,
of course, for all liquid matter. Moreover, the primaeval waters, the image of
prime matter, also contained all solid bodies before they acquired form and rigidity. For this reason, the alchemists gave the name of ‘water’ to quicksilver in its
first stage of transmutation and, by analogy, also to the ‘fluid body’ of Man (57).
This ‘fluid body’ is interpreted by modern psychology as a symbol of the unconscious, that is, of the non-formal, dynamic, motivating, female side of the personality. The projection of the mother-imago into the waters endows them with
various numinous properties characteristic of the mother (31). A secondary meaning of this symbolism is found in the identification of water with intuitive wisdom. In the cosmogony of the Mesopotamian peoples, the abyss of water was
regarded as a symbol of the unfathomable, impersonal Wisdom. An ancient Irish
god was called Domnu, which means ‘marine depth’. In prehistoric times the
word for abyss seems to have been used exclusively to denote that which was
unfathomable and mysterious (4). The waters, in short, symbolize the universal
congress of potentialities, the fons et origo, which precedes all form and all
creation. Immersion in water signifies a return to the preformal state, with a sense
of death and annihilation on the one hand, but of rebirth and regeneration on the
other, since immersion intensifies the life-force. The symbolism of baptism,
which is closely linked to that of water, has been expounded by St. John
Chrysostom (Homil. in Joh., XXV, 2): ‘It represents death and interment, life and
resurrection. . . . When we plunge our head beneath water, as in a sepulchre, the
old man becomes completely immersed and buried. When we leave the water, the
new man suddenly appears’ (18). The ambiguity of this quotation is only on the
surface: in this particular aspect of the general symbolism of water, death affects
only Man-in-nature while the rebirth is that of spiritual man. On the cosmic level,
the equivalent of immersion is the flood, which causes all forms to dissolve and
return to a fluid state, thus liberating the elements which will later be recombined
in new cosmic patterns. The qualities of transparency and depth, often associated with water, go far towards explaining the veneration of the ancients for this
element which, like earth, was a female principle. The Babylonians called it ‘the
home of wisdom’. Oannes, the mythical being who brings culture to mankind, is
portrayed as half man and half fish (17). Moreover, in dreams, birth is usually
expressed through water-imagery (v. Freud, Introduction to Psycho-Analysis).
The expressions ‘risen from the waves’ and ‘saved from the waters’ symbolize
fertility, and are metaphorical images of childbirth. On the other hand, water is, of
all the elements, the most clearly transitional, between fire and air (the ethereal
elements) and earth (the solid element). By analogy, water stands as a mediator
between life and death, with a two-way positive and negative flow of creation and
destruction. The Charon and Ophelia myths symbolize the last voyage. Death
was the first mariner. ‘Transparent depth’, apart from other meanings, stands in
particular for the communicating link between the surface and the abyss. It can
therefore be said that water conjoins these two images (2). Gaston Bachelard
points to many different characteristics of water, and derives from them many
secondary symbolic meanings which enrich the fundamental meaning we have described. These secondary meanings are not so much a set of strict symbols, as
a kind of language expressing the transmutations of this ever-flowing element.
Bachelard enumerates clear water, spring water, running water, stagnant water,
dead water, fresh and salt water, reflecting water, purifying water, deep water,
stormy water. Whether we take water as a symbol of the collective or of the
personal unconscious, or else as an element of mediation and dissolution, it is
obvious that this symbolism is an expression of the vital potential of the psyche,
of the struggles of the psychic depths to find a way of formulating a clear message
comprehensible to the consciousness. On the other hand, secondary symbolisms
are derived from associated objects such as water-containers, and also from the
ways in which water is used: ablutions, baths, holy water, etc. There is also a
very important spatial symbolism connected with the ‘level’ of the waters, denoting a correlation between actual physical level and absolute moral level. It is
for this reason that the Buddha, in his Assapuram sermon, was able to regard the
mountain-lake—whose transparent waters reveal, at the bottom, sand, shells,
snails and fishes—as the path of redemption. This lake obviously corresponds to
a fundamental aspect of the ‘Upper Waters’. Clouds are another aspect of the
‘Upper Waters’. In Le Transformationi of Ludovico Dolce, we find a mystic
figure looking into the unruffled surface of a pond, in contrast with the accursed
hunter, always in restless pursuit of his prey, implying the symbolic contrast
between contemplative activity—the sattva state of Yoga—and blind outward
activity—the rajas state. Finally, the upper and lower waters communicate reciprocally through the process of rain (involution) and evaporation (evolution).
Here, fire intervenes to modify water: the sun (spirit) causes sea water to evaporate (i.e. it sublimates life). Water is condensed in clouds and returns to earth in
the form of life-giving rain, which is invested with twofold virtues: it is water, and
it comes from heaven (15). Lao-Tse paid considerable attention to this cyclic
process of meteorology, which is at one and the same time physical and spiritual,
observing that: ‘Water never rests, neither by day nor by night. When flowing
above, it causes rain and dew. When flowing below, it forms streams and rivers.
Water is outstanding in doing good. If a dam is raised against it, it stops. If way is
made for it, it flows along that path. Hence it is said that it does not struggle. And
yet it has no equal in destroying that which is strong and hard’ (13). When water
stands revealed in its destructive aspects, in the course of cataclysmic events, its
symbolism does not change, but is merely subordinated to the dominant symbolism of the storm. Similarly, in those contexts where the flowing nature of water is
emphasized, as in the contention of Heraclitus that ‘You cannot step twice into
the same river; for fresh waters are ever flowing in upon you.’ Here the reference is not to water-symbolism as such, but to the idea of the irreversible flow along a
given path. To quote Evola, in La tradizione ermetica: ‘Without divine water,
nothing exists, according to Zosimus. On the other hand, among the symbols of
the female principle are included those which figure as origins of the waters
(mother, life), such as: Mother Earth, Mother of the Waters, Stone, Cave, House
of the Mother, Night, House of Depth, House of Force, House of Wisdom,
Forest, etc. One should not be misled by the word “divine”. Water symbolizes
terrestrial and natural life, never metaphysical life.’
