In this odd dream, I broke up with my boyfriend, or somehow I lost him. I don't know how much time passed with him gone, but eventually I met a new guy on an online dating site. He reminded me of my current boyfriend, and then it turned out that it WAS him. So we had a reunion, but we were acting as if we were meeting for the first time. It felt like we were in a kind of time loop, where we kept meeting each other, as if we had never met before.
We got together for our “first meeting”. We were wandering around a quiet city that was like a ghost town, walking in the middle of the street because there were no cars. And there were only a few people standing around- there was a young man playing a guitar and a few other band members. I can't remember what the music sounded like, but I was enjoying it, although I had a little stressed out feeling that something wasn't right.
I was holding a potted plant. It looked like one of our hanging houseplants, with the long vines trailing down. The plant's roots were coming up out of the dirt. I had noticed the same thing in real life too, that the plants were growing so much, it was like the roots couldn't support the weight of the long vines.
That's what was stressing me out, as I felt it was very important to keep it alive, and I could almost feel the plant's agony of being torn out of the dirt.
I pointed it out to my boyfriend, and we started to look around for a good place to plant the plant. We found an area of dirt to transfer it, just as I was about to wake up.
