I was sleeping in my bedroom in my parent's home. I woke to the sound of my father yelling outside of the door. His words were a bit slurred and he was angry. He wanted me to come out, so I grabbed my glasses and drearily cracked the door as to not wake my partner who was sleeping in the bed. As I closed the door behind me, my dad grabbed a chunk of my hair on the back of my head and pulled back exposing my throat. He held a mangled and twisted key to it and yelled, "I'm about to lose it with you"! I managed to tear out of his grip and ran into my room locking the door behind me. I looked to my partner for safety and protection, but he had disappeared. I felt alone. My dad stomped away and time passed quickly. I heard my mom yelling my dad's name, each time became increasingly more panicked. I then heard a gun shot and realized that my dad had committed suicide.
The oddest part of this dream is that my father doesn't have an aggressive or suicidal bone in his body.
