I'm at some kind of huge festival at a place that looks like the Seattle Center. Summer's on; the day is warm and clear, and there are scads of people around. In a nearby building, loud house music thumps; a perpetually elevating oscillation is the lead.
Am I there to perform? I'm not sure, but I'm carrying my backpack, which means I may be between street shows. I'm not the only busker there; at one point I see a one-man circle show, a fellow keeping a crowd entertained with a spot of oratory. In his box of tricks I can spot a hand-held circular saw.
I'm moving through a small square courtyard rimmed by benches. Lots of people are milling about; there seems to be a traffic jam going on. Suddenly, a swell of people completely fills the courtyard and everyone seems stuck; the incoming crush of traffic pushes me back, straight onto the lap of a man with a round face, long hair and a red beard.
