I used to follow the "wake up after 4 hours, do induction going back to sleep, and wake up using alarm every 1.5 hours." It did not work for me. If anything, I felt even more tired that I stopped it, and forgot about it.
I tried another technique, which was to sleep for almost 6 hours, wake up for two hours eating, talking, walking around, going online, and also reading about LD, go back to sleep, do relaxation/induction (so far, I tried relaxation, but not induction yet), for several hours (I set 3 hours alarm).
I had very clear and interesting dreams after that, as evidenced by my previous dream entry, and I even realized I was dreaming on the very first dream, although my lucidity didn't last long. But hey, it's the first time, and I definitely felt rested. Not to mention I like staying up late and waking up late, and sleeping during the day.
I'm also starting again with RC. I realized that I mostly face context-related dream signs. Will continue with this.
